What's with the hate comments regarding this phone? This phone has an afforfable price and actually it's already better for its cheap price. If you want the best phone, then buy the expensive ones!

Have had this phone for the last two months.
Photos: Good. However, in dark lighting conditions, they come out really bad. The only way to beat this is by using night mode, but the subject has to remain very still which we know can be difficult to achieve. 6/10
Battery life: Good. However with MIUI 11 there battery drains much faster even though it still lasts you about a day. I'm now on MIUI 12 and the battery life is much better. With MIUI 11, battery drain was high as phone idle consumption was always more than 60%.
Fast charging: With MIUI 11, it was pretty slow about 12% in 17 mins. With MIUI 12, it's slightly better at about 26% in 30 min. I tried to make this faster by purchasing a 33W xiaomi charger. It is much faster than the bundled 22W charger but still struggles to achieve at least 1% for every minute which to me should be the minimum standard for fast charging. I get about 28% in 30 min. Not bad, but I blame the G85 chipset. I have had other xiaomi phones which have very good fast charging even with a 18W charger, i.e. Redmi Note 9S.

I bought this phone 3 days ago. It is running on MIUI 12 now. I used Redmi Note 5 before. Compared to Redmi Note 5, this phone has better performance and screen. The battery life is also a bit longer than Redmi Note 5 (just a bit). However, this phone has poor vibration motor (feels very cheap), and poor speaker (in my opinion). About the camera, the color tone is very good. The images look vibrant. But when you zoom the image, the detail is worse compared to Redmi Note 5 (daylight condition). Will try Gcam after this...

I bought this phone after a week from the launch date. This phone is more than amazing. I lover redmi note 9 and well this is the first phone I ever bought in my life. I am happy with my decision. I am a Xiaomi user now. I was planning to buy realme 5 pro. Redmi note 8 was also in my mind but redmi n 9 is the bestest.

I think everything of the phone is perfect but I would like to recommend you plz don't buy the phone cause if you are a gamer you should not buy it because game lags so much not pubg not free fire just a simple 300 MB game and graphics are not so better . The phone is perfect for other purposes not for gaming .

The people who you would see hating on this device are youtubers because I think all of them pretty much just say the same thing in their videos. Also review sites (because they have to be TOO honest in my opinion) and hardcore gamers.
It's a good device. If I'm being honest the things I've seen online that people call FLAWS are just what every other phone has. If you want a perfect phone then spend $600 on it by all means.
If people have a little more money to chip then no biggie.
The realme 6 is there, note 8 pro is there and maybe the note 9s.
But i don't believe that this phone falls below the redmi note 8, redmi 9(prime and the rest) , realme 6i and the likes.
I like the device as it can keep up with my needs and I'm a gamer also. Not a down to earth, proud, critic gamer but i can hold my ground and still have fun with those chicken dinners.
The phone would improve, hopefully.
Those wondering if they should get it, I'd advice you not to seek PERSONAL opinions.
Instead look up the CONS. Don't look at the pros yet. If you can ignore those cons as they have no means of affecting your daily usage too much then go ahead and get the phone.
If you can't ignore it then put a little more money and get a better one as listed by others.

But guys for the price, this phone is pretty good. Me and a lot of other users are pretty much satisfied with it. If I had to choose the cons I'd say the charging speed is quite slow (hopefully will improve in upcoming updates same as gaming performance) plus the display doesn't get that much bright. Battery wise it's great gives me 8 hours sot heavy usage. Day to day performance is solid for gaming we have to hide the notch which makes the games run smoothly. All we can do is be a little patient since this is a new chipset the optimization takes a little while.
