Shan, 24 Jul 2020I bought Note 9 Pro for my uncle. He complained the ringing... moreYou should try increasing the ringtone's volume. In my case when you put the volume higher it becomes so loud you can hear it everywhere in my house

RTR, 19 Jul 2020is it true that AMOLED is not good for eyes? Amoled definitely feels better for the eyes. Being a former longtime Samsung user myself, the amoled screen is definitely better. But now with my Redmi note 9 pro, the IPS screen makes up for it with its dark mode so it's really just nitpicking to say this phone sucks because of the display

Gamer, 24 Jul 2020Is this worth buying? I want to play games in high quality.Different results in different games but call of duty mobile runs so smooth with max framerate setting and very high is the best available setting so far. Emulators run full or near full speed with 1x and higher resolutions in dolphin/damonps2/Citra, sadly each game is a different case so some might lag and some will run fullspeed at 3x resolution for example but most ran great in my tests. If you can afford flagships then go for a phone with Snapdragon 855 or higher but you will not see enormous differences, maybe some unplayable games will become fully playable at 1x resolution in the flagship phones and higher resolutions will be available at full speed, as for Android games you will have access to top settings obviously in those flagships because some games don't play at max settings in this note 9 pro but I bet they would if we had the option to change settings

Small update: I opened call of duty mobile and got a small in-game update and after I went to the settings I noticed a new max framerate option available up to high graphic setting and very high graphics now have very high framerate option!!! Tested this max framerate and the difference between it and very high is so huge, now when I move the camera it's so freaking smooth, I'm really shocked and love this phone! There's a small problem I didn't had in my old phone, the screen turned black during battle royale twice and I don't know what is causing this. I also don't know if there's a max graphic setting for this game but for now this phone doesn't have it but it might get added like the max framerate option!
I tried two other Android games, Gangstar Vegas graphics seem to be set on medium for some reason, I bet this phone can handle the max settings seen in flagship phones but sadly the game doesn't have the option to change the graphic level but there's another kind of graphic setting which barely changes anything...
And Terraria, the game runs at 60 fps in a large world and the touch controls are good with the big screen for me unlike in my smaller phone where I had problem walking jumping and attacking at the same time.
I forgot to mention the speed of installing apps which is fast, extracting big archives doesn't take long, games load fast and Terraria large world was made quite fast!
That's all from me for real this time, I will post updates if something major happens to this phone after system/game/emulator updates

I bought Note 9 Pro for my uncle. He complained the ringing sound not loud as he can't hear when he's upstairs. When other phone rings from same site, he has no problem on hearing the ringing sound.
Can anyone confirm whether you have the same experience.
thanks

Third and final part of my mini review because I accidentally posted my previous message before I finished lol
I was planning to buy a notchless phone but to be honest the small dot is not a big deal, it can be hidden with the hide notch option in the settings and most emulators can adjust the screen and avoid the notch, sadly we can't always get what we want but I would pay more for a notchless redmi note 9 pro.
Android 10 is easy to use like my previous Android 8 and the MIUI is not as heavy or buggy as I expected it to be after hearing all the negative reviews about MIUI. I deleted bloatware games and apps to save more space. Android 11 might be harder to use because I heard it won't allow apps to access some folders so I won't upgrade to it even if I have the option until I see how emulators and other apps work on it but that's a different story.
Final words, if you like gaming dont do the mistake of buying anything non-Snapdragon like I did 3 years ago when I didn't knew what a Kirin and a Snapdragon is. The Snapdragon 720g of this phone can nearly handle anything emulator related so get a phone with it or something better. For 200€ this phone is the best cheapest gaming choice available and the phone is worth far more than it's value so getting it now was a smart choice because it might get more expensive like the Xiaomi mi 9t pro which went to 330€ in my country and now it's nearly triple the price :/ Yes I regret not buying it when I had the chance.

So for the non gaming stuff, the battery is crazy big and lasted me for many hours, charging is very fast, the phone can get hot after heavy gaming after a while but not a big problem for me, my model is the 64gb variant and I have near 50gb available to use and a SD card slot available up to 512gb or even connect a portable HD so spece ain't a problem, there's a 128gb model for more space for those who want it, there's one speaker like in my older phone and the sound is good and loud so I won't complain about no stereo speakers, headphone jack available which I haven't used yet and NFC and IR blaster available! Haven't played with the camera much and it's not my thing to be honest since I only needed a handheld gaming device but the quality looks good I guess? System updates are very frequent so far, I got an update after unboxing the phone and yesterday another update with the July security patch, I heard we will get MIUI 12 soon and since this phone got released this year and Xiaomi loves to update their devices for long, I expect at least an Android 11 update and maybe 12 too? :P I forgot to mention that my charger is not getting hot while charging but my older phones charger was hot to touch so I guess that's another plus. No WiFi issues like some people reported, download speeds are the same as in my older phone.
Now as for slight downsides, it's kind of heavy with one hand but im slowly getting used to the weight, in landscape mode I use two hands so the weight is completely "gone".
I'm not a fan of big screens so if it was a little smaller close to my older phone I would be very happy but again it's not a big deal, my future phone will be definitely smaller however unless I get used to near 7 inch xD

Lorenzo5, 23 Jul 2020Hi everyone. Which smartphone is better and which one shoul... moreHere's a comparison of the pro max and the a51 regarding camera:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVTeiVqsG-I
Really I didn't see much difference except in low light, the 9 seems to do better in those ones.
On the display no doubt the AMOLED screen is superior by far specially when you look at video in low ambient light.

I bought the phone after watching many gaming tests in YouTube and all I can say is this is the best purchase I ever had after less than 1 week of use! My previous phone Huawei p9 lite 2017 could get 10 fps in Citra in 1x resolution while this note 9 pro runs Pokemon games full speed even at higher resolutions with minor lag here and there which might be fixed on future Citra updates since the emulator is quite new. Beware that Pokemon X/Y, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and the Sun and Moon games run fullspeed in the official Citra but lag in the MMJ edition. GameCube games run at full speeds in 1x or higher resolution depending on the game while my old phone lagged hard at 1x resolution in 95% of games I tried. Wii games are a weird case, some play fullspeed at high resolutions while others have minor lag even in 1x, maybe using hack combinations or future dolphin or system updates will improve this. Vulkan is slower than OpenGL, custom Dolphin builds run faster and I don't have graphical glitches like in my older phone, possibly because Snapdragon has better drivers and GPU and dolphin got updated many times since my old tests. Damonps2 obviously runs way faster than my old phone and while speed depends on the game, some run fullspeed while others have lag and many graphical glitches. As for PSP most games already ran good in my old phone but now I can play higher resolutions at full speed, and some games like Silent Hills Shattered Memories which lagged even in 1x now run fullspeed unless I open the flashlight which brings the FPS down a lot and is only working in Vulkan for whatever reasons. Silent Hills Origin works perfect though so maybe future ppsspp updates will fix Shattered Memories.
Now for Android games I only tried Call of Duty Mobile and my jaw dropped, it plays on very high graphic setting even in Battle Royale while my old phone had the low setting available and would freeze for a second in random moments but this redmi plays so smooth at very high!. As for the framerate option it can go up to very high only in the low/medium/high graphics but at very high graphics the max framerate available is high, however I don't notice any difference between high and very high framerate. For some reason I don't have the option to watch advertisements in the redmi phone so this is the only downside and I don't know how to fix this.
Sorry for the long post I just wanted to share my findings and help those who want a good gaming phone, I wanted to buy my first flagship phone but this redmi 9 pro can emulate everything we can so far in Android at full/near full speeds depending on the game and there is potential for higher speeds after future system and emulator updates so I saved a lot of money and won't need another upgrade for years! And when the time comes for upgrading, there's a high chance we will have many mid-range phones with 5nm Snapdragons with even higher speeds! Nintendo Switch might be emulated next on Android and honestly after seeing how fast Citra is I won't be surprised if mid-range phones like mine run games fast (and the the same time I doubt this will happen but let's have hope ;)) I will make another small mini review for non gaming features of this phone's next because this is getting too long xD

Vinay, 22 Jul 2020Why is it taking more than 8 hours to charge the phoneTry turn off the phone before recharge and connect the charger directly to the wall and check connectors are clean and firmly connected.
If that fails you probably have a bad charger, cable or even the phone, hope it's not the case.
