I don't use the apps you refer to, but I use other apps that I have granted usage access, unlimited data, etc.
It is tedious changing all the settings and going into dev options, but once you do it, it's done.

I want to always keep audio port, dual speakers, standalone micro SD card ... And I don't want easy to break rounded glass.
While we're at it, I miss width. 16:9 was much easier viewing.

However this phone isn't as bloated out of box as some other xiaomi models.

Anonymous, 28 Jun 2021Can't activate global version of this phone on Metro P... moreHi ... I am using this model on FreeUp (an AT&T mvno) and Mint Mobile (a TMO mvno). Both working perfectly but after ordering your sim card you must manually disable carrier checking for both Volte & Voice over WiFi to use Volte and WiFi calling (Google the shortcodes it is super easy)
You must also manually update the APN settings for whichever carrier you choose.v
Note: I have also tested this model with regular T Mobile and TracFone (gsma and gsmt both work ... Same goes for Red Pocket.b
Metro PCS has actively blacklisted dual SIM non USA Market phones, as has Cricket.
But if you stick to non carrier owned MVNOS you should be fine.
Re: freeUP: Their website says hotspot isn't included. Not true. I get hotspot. They haven't updated their FAQs since they were only offering free ad-supported plans.

Stay away from 2020-21 unlocked Motorolas if you are in the USA and possibly Canada as well.
Lenovo is aware they are being blacklisted but offers no help.

I... moreThere is no 6 gigabyte version for the Redmi Note 9t. Only 4 gigs. this worried me too, but it is multitasking okay, even though I haven't debloated it yet.
The Poco M3 is a bit cheaper, still has 5g and can be purchased with 4 or 6 gigs of RAM.
(I would have bought that instead but there is only one speaker ... plus the 9t has standalone smart card slot.

Drives me nuts, but on the other hand this model is one of the only models with a stand alone smart card slot (my deakbreaker is 3.5mm audio jack, but thankfully a lot of models retain that feature).

I just bought this phone ... Very good North American LTE coverage.
With regard to the selfie hole/notch: should I be particularly careful to keep it dry when cleaning the screen?
I usually wipe my phone screen down with 90% rubbing alcohol but never worried about drenching cameras before.
