I've been using this tablet for about a month now. it's one of the best choices in this price range. It has no issues at all just one thing I wanted to ask about.
When I turn on Dolby Atmos and play a video on YouTube or somewhere else, then pause or seek forward/backward, the volume fluctuates.
For example, if a video is playing and I pause or skip, the volume gets louder, If I pause and play again, it gets quieter. Sometimes, you've to do it multiple times for it to happen. I've tried every method, but nothing worked. I don't know if it'll be fixed after the update or not. Honestly, I don’t want to update it cos you know how Xiaomi updates are, fix one issue, add three more.
Has anyone else faced this problem?

Can we talk about Dolby Vision on this device?
Which streaming platforms did you notice DV on the device?
I only can confirm about Disney plus - NO DV support.
No idea about Hbo Max and Netflix

The tablet itself is pretty solid. The customization I must say is mild. Yes, you can install third-party launchers, but you have to stuck around with ye' olde navigation buttons. This will most likely stays until further software updates. Third-party icons, say nah. They only provide their own icons (which is kind of neat). The performance is great for basic actions in everyday situations. You could also play games on these tablets. I tried Real Racing 3 and F1 2009 on PPSSPP and they run well. The keyboard, although is expensive, is a nice thing to have, alongside with the Redmi Smart Pen, a nice back-to-school starter pack. The pen doesn't connect with magnets, which is a misinformation. It needs to be stored with a special holder that comes with either the cover or the keyboard, which are sold seperately from the tablet. Overall, if you're grateful enough, this is the perfect tablet for you for the prize tag (for me, at least).

maybe if this had a 6 gen 1. which is pretty much just what the 7s gen 2 is but a higher clock. overheating definitely wouldn't be as much of a problem with the 6 gen 1

And you say that as if 7s Gen 2 doesn't heat up a lot and takes a lot of power, since it was made by Samsung... While also being far weaker.

skeptical of this tablet : processor is samsung's 4nm (tensoshyte).
i'll try and return if heat/stutter/drain like tensoshyte.
also shitomiOS... very bad (lags, ads, bugs, spy/crapware...) from the recent I tried.
and facial recognitaiton kindofajoke (I read camera recognition hardly work in dark, and not very obviously)
the, reliability issue of shitomi, i also stopped buying because of they are really the worst there.
stil worth giving it a try (relatively cheap on sale).

i'd prefer lower perf than a toaster myself.
