Means, if the phone is under light load, it will only use 1~4 cores (lowest tier). Under medium load, the second tier will kick in. This is not necessarily running up to 8 cores though. If we only have one apps running (when playing mid-weight games usually), we only use the 1~4 cores of the mid tier and 1~2 of the lowest tier for background processes. The two highest cores only kick in when heavy load is detected.

      So, the power consumption still depend on how you use your phone. This also applied to any other SoC as well.

I have tested devices with SD chipset and 35.000 points that do better than devices with MTK chipset and 50.000 points...

                                  10 cores are waste of battery. only 5 cores will be used to maximum even if u plays games. i dont know why they call it redmi pro. the name should be given to high end flagship device.
