Xiaomi Redmi S2 allegedly receives 3C certification

Vlad, 26 April 2018

Xiaomi has a new device in development, according to recent rumors: the Redmi S2. This model was apparently the one passing through TENAA a few days ago, and now it's been given the go-ahead by 3C as well (that's Compulsory Certification of China). Hence, its launch day could be right around the corner.

The 3C certification doesn't reveal any specs, but according to TENAA and past rumors, the Redmi S2 will come with a design reminiscent of the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

It will boast a 5.99-inch 18:9 touchscreen with 1,440x720 resolution, a dual rear camera setup with one sensor being 12 MP, a 16 MP selfie snapper, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

It's supposedly powered by the Snapdragon 625, aided by 2/3/4GB of RAM and 16/32/64GB of storage, depending on which model you buy. In terms of color options, you'll be able to pick from black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, gray, and silver. Its initial launch will probably happen in China, with availability elsewhere possibly following at a later date.

5.6-6.0" is the new normal. Because 2.1 phone with 5.8" is similar in dimensions like 16:9 phone with 5.2" screen. But will be great to more OEMs make phones like Xperia Compact XZ2 (just not that fat). 5" with 2.1 aspect radio=great handling phone.
