I have had this phone for 2 months.
The battery used to suck in the first few days but now I get about 4days of battery.
HOW.
I have installed a custom ROM and also have a battery saver app....keeps the connections off once the screen is locked. Also another trick...I change my network from 3G to 2G just for normal sms and calls only. Love the phone and is worth every penny.

Nuru mAn, 10 Nov 2011The battery doesn't last longer. no use.I don't think its battery is so bad (it's like my Partner's iPhone 3 GS's, I usually charge it every night, but many times it is still like 60% in the evening), but I've noticed if I turn off the GPS (which I need mainly for Maps/Places) I can save a lot of battery life.

bad ass low end cp, ive been using this for almost a year now "netphone in the philippines and vibo a699 in taiwan ill share some tips on how to maximize this cp, first install skyfire web browser because this cp lacks adobe flash support, second root the phone using z4root. tust me it will do wonders for you...

This phone would be exceptional, for the price, were it not for a show-stopping design fault : the internal storage space is MINISCULE, only 160MBs. Even with an upgrade to Android 2.2 firmware (which allows for installing some apps to the SD card), it is the internal storage space that's used for program cache and data. This means HUGE problems, as you will be routinely "left out of space" when trying to install new applications. I can't for the life of me understand why ZTE made the foolish, foolish choice of bogging down this otherwise worthy smartphone with such a small storage footprint, but them's the brakes. Go for Huawei Ideos X5, which will at least allow you to use and install lots of apps, as it has 1GB of internal space..

removed the bloatware from orange runing android 2.1 &
upgraded this phone to Cyanogen Mod 7.1 latest
runs smooth no glitches
also upgraded from gen 1 to gen 2 easy process

I got mine around 2 months ago and was surprised to find out it was a Gen1, After looking online however I found an easy CM install guide that converted the phone to gen2 in the process, I'm now running Cyanogen 7.1 (think the nightly builds run better though and I've never had an unstable one) and it's great!
