That is a package/bundle/it comes with it. Whether 4K or not your purchasing the phone. The funtionality is what im after, not just the screen. Try to broaden your insight, it makes you look dumb enough on a 2digit IQ.

x, 08 Nov 2014Well its Better to have something and don't Need it then to... moreNo-one NEEDS a 4K 6" display. That will ALWAYS be a "want" not a "need."

If you can sit there and say with a straight face that you NEED a 4K display on a 6" phone, you're trying way too hard to justify a purchase. Way too hard.

That or you really don't understand what you're buying, you just want bigger better numbers to ease that compulsion of over-compensation.

I have been thinking of replacing my original Note. Current king is the Note 4. Besides, I'm not into Apple anyway. And I'm pretty sure the upcoming reviews will show that the Nexus 6 is no match even disregarding the S pen. But I hardly use the S pen. So perhaps the S6 is the answer. It will probably have the best parts of the Note 4 in addition to the new and more powerful 64 bit cpu. And with display sizes creeping up year after year it might even be slightly bigger say 5.3". Perfect. I waited for while so whats another 1/2 year. Another thing I'd like is for the S6 to support external regular sized computer display, keyboard and mouse to allow such setup to be used as desktop replacement for just the typical needs such as web browsing and emailing and not gaming nor video encoding.

I work in multimedia post. I have tested Note 3 and note 4 side by side. The difference is barely noticeable and 2.5 K resolution on these screen sizes seems as borderline waste of resources.

I was welcoming high pixel density screens. This however, if true...seems ridiculous.
4K screen would make sense on 10-12" tablets. Here it just seems as a total waste of resources.

Why is it that on every single Samsung brochure, you have to see a comment about Apple and vice versa. Let Samsung be Samsung and Apple be Apple.

The first UHDTV production monitor was introduced in June 2001 by IBM. Which could all mean, 4K is so last 2001. LOL. At least in digital television and digital cinematography, 4K and 8K are old tech news.

FEI, both 4K UHD (2160p) and 8K UHD (4320p) are considered under UHDTV category. Both of which are two digital video formats proposed by NHK with the latter having a detail level closer to IMAX's 15/70 mm and features 22.2 surround sound as Super Hi-Vision.555. In graphics display resolution, 4320p (8K) is dubbed FUHD.

And we cannot just say, 8K is the successor to 4K just because 8K has a higher resolution. But they were both proposed simultaneously and were considered under UHDTV on proposition.

However, in the mobile world, 8K shall slowly succeed 4K just as how 4K shall gradually succeed 2K inevitably and eventually. Even I do not want a time to come when handsets are stuck at 2K displays. I even want mobile devices to either keep up or exceed existing commercially available 4K UHD TVs. Say, mobile device manufacturers could try to skip 4K and straight up implement 8K. With sufficient resources or funding, manufacturers or suppliers could pull that off :-)
