I have the Sony Z Ultra, which has a beautiful unibody, couldn't imagine having a removeable back cover, it would ruin the premium look and feel of the device. There isn't any need for removeable batteries, i've never had to replace mine or, as in my previous phones, ever had to take a battery out and i'm a very very heavy user. There is definitely something that people are doing wrong for their batteries to run out. Had my Nokia N900 for the last 5 years and never had to change the battery at all or take the back cover off.
Those complaining about sound or the camera, I agree that the camera could be improved as both my old Nokia and LG phones produced better pictures and certainly better video than my Z Ultra. Sound quality is good enough, and certainly loud enough to enjoy, while call quality has also been good enough. The display on my Z Ultra is the best i've yet seen, nothing can come near to it, certainly not the Note 4. There isn't much Sony have done wrong except make two flagships a year, which has probably cost them dearly.

Larger phones, higher screen resolution, notification center, widgets, getting closer and closer to one day perhaps actually seeing real multi tasking? Iphone 6, the worst looking phone since 1st gen? No one tries to make as big bezels as apple either.
Oh yeah, it's apple being inspired by others, not the other way around.
When the web is filled with apple fanboys in any segment, as well as just that single one needed in a family/friend circle to trick someone to next try iphone because it's "such much easier". I once fell for the "apple is flawless, bug free and fantastic" crap and got ripped of. The limitations of anything apple is suffocating to most techy individuals.
So here is one of my suggestions as to why iUsers recommend apple to a friend. Because EVERYONE else uses DLNA, Miracast, NFC, USB etc and I can't join in and so I want everyone else to get what I have instead of me making the change, because I am one self centered overgrown baby. A phone with open standard and complies with EU regulation? No thanks!
Even my aunt, tried to make me change, despite the fact that she knows nothing at all about smartphones - simply because of her being told by commercial (for those who do not hear it's the best iphone, not best phone) and other fanboys - including sellers.
Another aunt of mine went to one of the largest electronics chains in our country and asked for a new phone as her old Nokia 5210 was getting old. She just needed a simple phone, not too big, with a decent camera she told the seller. He - of course - sold her the phone he makes the most of, iphone. She needed help and found that phone was annoying to use and she didn't like the whole itunes thing. She didn't even find the camera easy to use. We returned it the following weekend and got her a proper phone, Z1 Mini, at a much lower price and she didn't even need help to use it.
oh, and claiming that other imitate apple in the year of 2015 is very embarrassing

iphone clones are primarely found in asia and close to non-existing in europe and america, even the rest of asia.
Plastic phones? Really? sony has glass and aluminium, Motorola has kevlar, Huawei and several others use Aluminium, even no-name China phones come in aluminium - it is not in any way a quality stamp.
Malware on google play? Or did you mean on other unofficial app stores that users are allowed to use if the wish?
No reliable customer service? HAHA, apple customer service: We can offer you to buy a new one
I don't know how poor you are, but most people here keep their phones a year. Pretty much all flagship phones get manufacturer support 1-2 years and google support through google play services pretty much constantly. You did know that right?
Iphone only pushes one OS upgrade a year, apart from their major bugfixes and finishing of the features they missed in the of the new phones launch.

Because people are satisfied by its products. 25% of former Samsung phones users in US switched to iPhone 6. Are they are all stupid? If they are, how come they bought a Samsung before? What stops Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony to make products that satisfy the users? And do you want to know another reason why people prefer the iPhones? Because a lot of other companies(including Samsung) try to copy them to almost identity! When you try to copy something, it means that THAT product is better! And it's a shame for people to be seen with a "fake" brand product!

Sony w... moreBelieving in "coolness" indicates a low functioning brain. So for your sake I hope you are still a teenager in development. A manufacturer makes devices and adapts software to it. Some are better than others at any given time. Lately, Sony and LG have made the top products in the smartphone category, not that it's reflected in sales.
Apple has become like any other fashion item - for simpletons, who neither knows or understands how technology works. It's good for apple, but bad for the world as a society when we loose those who actually makes more than decent products.
Apple makes pretty much nothing of their own products and completely depend on others, amung them Sony, LG and Samsung, to make their fugly iphones. Yet marketing and fanboyism helps them become successful.
Why anyone would want to purchase a phone that is not only a lesser device than competitors in it self - but on top of that is extremely poor value - is beynd me. People essentialy gets scammed, but both smiles and boast about their device due to it's logo. I'm embarrased on behalf of all the tech fashionistas the world over, as they have no clue themselves.

As I said... moreExactly! Sony low quality buyers are the problem, theres simply not enough of them, the low quality people has already bought Sony and their numbers are too low to sustain Sony Mobiles current size.
However a 30% cut is not enough, the next quarterly results will show a new historic low sales for Sony Xperia because of the poorest selection of phones since the Xperia S/P/U era.
It was an insult to even the low quality buyer's intelligence to slim down the Z1 Compact and the Z2 and call them Z3 Compact and Z3 respectively, only the names and the thickness was new.
