Anonymous, 28 Jan 2015so you MR know it all , do you think you know everything ab... moredont blame us the consumers for not supporting, these companies failed coz of their arrogance, n underestimating the average consumer intelligence n needs, all they did was fooling us with their marketing, dug deep into our pockets, these big companies overcharged us for their products but neglected pushing updates to most of its phones, including Samsung n galaxy S3 kitkat update drama, after getting fed up moving for Nokia to motorola to HTC, n watching how other companies releasing poor products n neglecting their consumers, no wonder they r losing, now the Chinese companies r eating share, the market is different now than 4 years ago, even mid phone r worthy quad core, android is better optimized in lollipop, even 8 megapixels cams r good enough, big brands n expensive phones r of less relevance now, thats why Chinese brands r selling, if we can get what we want at nearly half the crazy prices of big brands that sell by promoting gimmicks n not support updates well anyway, i better by a Chinese brand, n by the way Lenovo is the best brand now, coz they support a 200 $ phone with more updates than most big companies (especially HTC) does for high n mid range phones, my next phone will be Lenovo if not a nexus device

Unfortunately, I always thought the reason is simply because Sony's phones are not as good looking as other manufacturers, which quite simply goes back to the unnecessary (for many) requirement for water-proofing. I don't see it as necessary, and I think it hampers their design choices. Just my two cents worth...

Sony prefers losing millions instead of using the primary key for successful smartphone business. Keep minimum internal storage at 32GB, make battery to be replaceable, improve camera software and make only 1 flagship phone a year.

So this is the beginning of the end.
Being owner of the Xperia Z3 T-mobile, I'm not any happy with the slow software update.
Other than that, only people who don't own a Sony phone will make up any story about its "giant" bezels, unimpressive battery etc etc.

Include replaceable battery. More people will buy.

This is bad news for Sony's mobile div.

They should change when they release their phones, and target periods when people have money.

Lol @ quality products. Let's not get me started on the giant bezels. Weak battery, unimpressive UI/skin, lack lustered features... And of course, giant bezels!

Unless you're competing with Apple in their own market, best bring your A game when it comes to android.

Sony should understand, in today's the android market is not acceptable the highly overpriced phones in any category. Nor in entry or mid-range, nor in flagships.
And they should stop making phones with compromise. Cheap, 100 usd chinese phones getting better and better, noone want an "A" brand phone with less feature (weaker hardware) and 2 or 3 times more expensive.

what?! did he just say churning out quality, hmm did i miss something? these glass back xperias n muted speakers, overprice n poor LCD display, poor software, updates, a flagship phone every 6 month. they did the same mistake Nokia did before them over-promoted camera pixels then got the same fate they deserved, right now most pll like me r happy with 8 megapixels nobody care to change phone every time for better pixels, poor efforts do distract buyers, please they r 3rd the worst company after blackberry & Motorola, i hope they join forces with HTC coz its their only match now.

thenerd, 28 Jan 2015Blackberry and Sony must join forces....well... now im using SONY XPERIA Z3 and BB Classic... (upgraded from XPERIA P and BB Curve 9220) if they will merge this would be good... but having a querty phone as a side phone is really convinient and having a powerfull phone for games and apps will really make me feel good wherever I am...

Anonymous, 28 Jan 2015I guess their phones are not that good quality after all. N... moreNope, it s the buyers that are of low quality...
As I said before, Sony is using the wrong background in its market presentation...
Should use a poppy up color splash background like apple and samsung do...

It is mindblogging how such unimportant crap like phones background image on a commercial poster makes a difference to an average end buyer...

Meaning...Sony should loose the marketing division and get new fresh people there...

How about slashing prices of at least 20 %, and making new design. People are tired of the same old overpriced black slab with huge bezels. Sony still lives in the 90's when it ruled the world, but now people have more choice.

to me the six month circle wasnt the best option...SONY got what people what killing every flag ship in 6months wasnt te best of moves... for example I change my phone every 6month because, I didnt want an old phone using all flagships from xperia x10 to xperia z1 and then, from z1 to z3 the only significant change was battery
and I stop changing my phone because I needed sometin new and advanced
xperia z1 is fast and smooth and when camera comparison are made btw z1,z2 and Z3 I see no difference as a matter of fact z1 takes better photos

I had a Sony-Ericsson Xperia Active phone. I bought it simply it was reasonably priced and its tough nature back in 2011 (and yes, I m still using it).

Some where 2014, I wanted to buy Z3 compact, good spec, nice design, small enough for my pocket BUT.....

                                        1. Too expensive if were to compare with some non-mainstream phone brand with same or near-same spec.

                                        2. Loaded with lots of crapware or bloatware, very much like their notebook eating up unnecessary storage space and worst, you cannot get rid of them without rooting it.

                                        3. Quality Control. Yes, it has this notorious QC issue on their phone, and also other items. If you were unlucky like me, my xperia unit's microphone only lasted for 1 month and was sent for repair (lucky under warranty). My other Sony devices also suffering from the same faith ( I won't mention what), LCD gone faulty less than 2 weeks. It cannot be this coincident but it happened.

                                        4. To own and keep. Well I guess they do not have this type of ideology for their customer and may be that is why I am preparing to switch to others.

As at 2015, new year, new oulook and new mindset. I am waiting alternative like HTC 826 / Honor 6 or 6 plus / new Xiaomi Note and expecting more goodies from MWC 2015 later.

For me, Sony no more. It is either I do not understand them or they do not understand customer like me.
