Didn't an LG exec say last year when the G3 came out, that they would not be able to have such small bezels if they did not use plastic

                  Well, this is just silly...

What is the point of releasing a 5.6" curved screen plastic phone when you had just released a 5.5" curved screen plastic phone (G Flex 2). It's idiotic.

Obviously what they need to release is a 5-5.2" device to go against the two big flagships out there instead of a phablet that is similar to one they already have. They should have known that.

Not sure what LG is thinking. It's as if they'er trying to shoot themselves in the foot.

The cost of the S6 isn't even that high, £529.99. The LG G4 will be right around that.

It's not rocket science, LG have already said their premium device this year will not be the G4 (possibly the G4 Note), so they need something to differentiate the two devices and the body material is likely to be one thing. My hope is the G4 will have a screen size 5.1-5.4" (unlikely to be larger again due to G4 Note) and a plastic body so the cost is significantly below the likes of the S6. Battery wise either a removable one or if unibody then a high capacity battery. I'd be satisfied with a FHD screen but if battery life doesn't suffer then QHD (Note 4 is pretty efficient). It's down to LG and Sony now to convince me to upgrade from my G2...

I own a HTC One M8, which is aluminum-made. I live in a cold Nordic country, and it's just terrible trying to use metal phone outside when it's winter and something like -30c-ish freezing temperatures. Also it gives me these small static shocks. Never ever a metal phone again, but I know it does feel a bit more solid than most plastic phones.

I believe that metal does bring a premium feel on a smartphone. But it also carries a couple of negative sides like low scratch and bump resistance, heat transfer from soc, extra weight, and so on... It's more of a marketing selling point than anything else. IMHO, polycarbonate is the best option for mobile devices (like the one found in nokia lumia series). It is very resiliant to bumps and scratches, it isn't sllipery like plastic, it feels great in hand and objectivly it is the best choice. Those who want metal cases just seek atention from the people around them, and will probbably end buying a cheap plastic case from ebay to protect their precious metal phone from any damage...

If it's cheaper than the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 and looks decent, I don't mind a plastic body if it has flagship internals. Give it a 4000 mAh battery and a 5.2" screen and it will be a winner.

Metal body looks better but plastic case saves life. It is a cheap shot by LG just to uses plastic case for expensive phone, but I always use plastic cover case and plastic case phone for safety. There are always case people die because of they talk while they charge the phone.
