If you find a mobile that weighs around 7 ounces "heavy", you might wanna start a weight training program.

Design wise, this is a strong choice. If they're going to go forward with using the Snapdragon 810, using a metal body will only excaserbate the overheating issues it has. HTC found this out the hard way, and LG learned from HTC's mistake no doubt. Hopefully LG will find other solutions in addition to this to help reduce the heat this SoC outputs.

Metal body equals heavy and hot (see HTC One M9). Good choice by LG. Hope they and Sony will impress us, unlike Samsung and HTC.

If it's plastic again, i'm not gonna buy it. It's gonna melt when the Snapdrag 810 heats up.

I too do not understand why right now it's such an issue to make. Also I remember samsung wave 3 (I think) which had a nice sliding metal back with removable battery.

i actually like the plastic option since every other manufacturer wants to follow Apple route with metal unibody and nix the battery and mSD options. if i want unibody there are HTC, Samsung, etc. just make it lag free with a bit better battery all else in G3 is good.

And it's rumored to use the same SoC HTC has which is the SD810 so if G4 turns metal, then it's more likely prone to overheating. So, good move LG. Let's see what you got cookin' so, make haste and unleash the beast.

I hate LG, mostly, but this is a practical decision.
