Apple only used Samsung and their inferior process so they could sell as many iPhones as they are selling, because TSMC couldn't make them all. Next year, they will dump Samsung and go all TSMC. Apple knew that for most people, the difference is minimal and they don't care, but those who do anything intensive on their phone for long periods of time also read the news and know about this. For them, the 14-day no questions asked return window exists.

Designing processors isn't difficult. What matters is processor performance has always been fabrication process.
We are now seeing the massive differences between 2 different manufacturing processes, and it's killing many Apple fans.
Apple is incapable of doing the really hard high IQ things in life. All they are are just good rectangle drawers.

Guys calm down, and be sure that:
1- Apple is a giant company that must have tested both SoC in its iPhones in advance. It will not wait till some youtube tech-groups to tell us/it something that Apple do not know.
2- the stated difference is not so significant and wouldn't interfere with usual daily use of iPhone 6s (her lm guessing to be honest)
3- you may get the iPhone 6s with the TSMC, yet have a less efficient battery life due to other reasons like low signal, hot weather, wifi always on, many background apps.... etc ( l mean this issue is not a big deal, to have Samsung or TSCMC)
4- Apple antisipated increased demand on iPhones, so had to go for more than one contractor.
- Thank you Apple for doing this, otherwise this article and these comments wouldn't exist.
5- lastly, l would ask how many of the angry commenters ( who may have offended others by saying: stupid, has no grey cells, ....etc) are really interested in the topic and will buy iPhone 6s and would have worries that iPhone may have the Samsung SoC that may be 6%less in battery life??!! I think NONE
6- the info in this article is interesting, that's all..... Samsung will stay Samsung and Apple will stay Apple both are Giants and we are just commenters who have nothing to do in this issue ..... Except commenting .....LOL

But you're correct, its Samsung's fault. But if the Samsung chip performed better then that would be different, in that case it would be thanks to Apple's genius.

I never said Marketing doesn't help, in fact Marketing is the most important aspect of sales, but "Samsung sells more because it has the capacity to make more" is still stupid. And the last sentence of your reply contradicts your initial thoughts, because now you are saying Samsung is not selling that well, but earlier you said they sell because they can manufacture a lot, what's the reason of them not selling well, one of their machines broke?

Ya´ll so naive... Are you having just a bit brain guys? Apple has tested both chips long before the iPhones were out for sale. Where the hell is Samsung here responsible? Apple alone, decided - consciously, that they will pull off this game and offer both versions. It is both, unethical - cause normal consumers do not even know and notice and irresponsible since tech-savvy people on the internet or newspaper will find out and publish all. Apple without Samsung would never-ever have existed. And no I am not a Samsung fun-boy (never had one) - I have the 4th iPhone in row, but the truth is, all the 4S, 5S mobiles were exchanged at least 3 times because of major issues, so I will not go for another now.
