Anyway, back to the point..
X Performance doens't at all measure up to S7 or G5. Thicker, large bezels, no 4k Video. If X-series is really replacing the Z, there -must- be new releases in at least the top-end. And hopefully also Compact because I need a replacement for my Z1C and nothing else is even close to suitable yet.
And regardless of whether there will be a higher model than the X-P or not, Sony is killing it from the start with this pricing. 700€ for a not-really-flagship-spec model?? It's been their problem forever, they need (dare I say it) to follow Xiaomi's lead, and make them --cheaper-- than the competition so that people give them a chance. Then once people are hooked you can bump up the prices. That's Apple's model too. Sony has committed fans but not enough of them to finance their entire operation. So they need to encourage more customers to take a chance on them, and the --only-- way to do that is to have --as good-- phones at ---CHEAPER--- prices. Not worse ones at the same price.

1) Samsung fans don't troll here, post your crazy comments to Samsung page
2) Samsung is popular because for true marketing but not quality
3) Samsung is powerful but won't last more than a few months
4) Touchwiz sucks, laggy crap UI with much bloatware, oversaturated camera
5) Sony is a bit expensive, but durable
6) Sony UI works very smooth without lag
7) Sony camera is more realistic,
8) Most important, don't forget about Sony's unbeatable battery life
9) Sony phones are well optimized and won't slow you down, trust me
10) Who switch from Samsung to Sony, they never look back again

AnonD-111968, 25 Feb 2016My comment is technical, why can't Sony fit a bigger batter... moreSony implements way more hardware in their devices than samsung like stereo speakers,large camera sensor,mounted fingerprint scaner takes some space at the side of the phone and if you ever reapired any of sony phones like I did many times...you would know that there is a lot of conections needed to put all buttons and ports in perfect position and not just randomly like other brands do and why you compare xperia x performance (midranger) with a S7 (flagship)?

Some time back I read that Sony is closing their facilities because they will be focusing on 1 line of phones like Apple instead of so many of them. If that was true then X series makes sense. XA woud replace M series, XP & XPremium woud be flagships. That woud confirm what German version says. But I do hope that keep making Compact, Lite & tablets.

how about a different focus, new high end zx range ( like the high end audiophile digital audio players) for flagship for high end audio, maybe even decent dac with S-Master MX amplifier built in as well as digital noise cancellation *(silence air con, airplanes, trains, very good technology which protects your ears)

No Z6 mini?!!!???????!!! Noooooooooo!!!! They just lost my business then. Have been an avid supporter of the mini range, only reason I use Sony, their camera algorithms and software sucks. Samsung and Apple photos look a lot better. Shame on you Sony for taking away one of the only ranges that sells well

if xp is the flagship, why wouldn't it be sold at the uk and germany?
and where is the 4k screen?
xp is like the z4 - a limited availability phone. it's not sold everywhere because sony don't want it to interfere with the expected launch of the future z6.
there would be a z6 - or an equivalent, but with a different name!
xp is not the 2016 flagship!

Well Sony xperia x performance is pretty powerful phone. Dunno what exactly is different from others as well. It will go for small differences in design and overall user experience. But sony did well in last two outings. Z5 series are pretty good. Maybe sony corrected flaws in X. Flaws z5 had.
