The Huawei P9 has Gorilla Glass 3 (on Corning's website) and it supports fast charging (9v 2a fast charger not in box).

Ive had the P9 for about a year, Screen cracked within 4 days of having it, dropping it from a height of about half a metre, After a nightmare finding someone to fix it (£110) it lasted another 3 weeks untill it cracked in my Pocket with no impact and glass protector on. This phone is very Easy to break and i wouldn't recommend it for 2 year contract, camera is good, battery Life is OK. Software is awful really Difficult to get ROMS etc. I would give it a 3/10.

Its basically a Ferrari but on 2 inch wheels.... Cheap yet Poorly Built, Spend the extra on Iphone or Samsung as this will Break it is nto like previous Huwaei.

Dropped it first time from worktop onto lino kitchen floor and screen smashed to pieces. None of the phone shops seem to be able to get the glass to repair. So disappointed ... back to Samsung next contract

As someone who deals with scratches on glass professionally over at www.shineglassrenewal.com I do not like hearing how these guys are gonna drain my business with all this scratch resistant glass lol.

I agree, the P9 is the most lovable masterpiece from Huawei. Mine is two months old and last sunday fallen and it's glass and the glass protector were broken. Yes, that was my mistake, then search a technician, who replied: "Yes, i able to change the glass, but unfortunately, there is no replacement part from Huawei... Need to wait for a few month..." He fix the glass pieces with transparent tape, and the surprise: the phone working well...

For All people asking if P9 has Corning Gorilla Glass or no, If you checked Corning Gorilla Glass website and go to Huawei page you will find that it's mentioned the models which has Gorilla Glass and it includes P9 & P9 Plus.
The author need to recheck again for that point.

I really don't get why some tech writers complain about battery life for not making it through the night onto a second day. 99% of people have access to a power outlet near where they sleep, so just plug the damn phone in and problem solved. Battery life is a problem if the phone can't make it through a complete day from morning to getting home, who cares if it can't last through overnight onto the next day?

Also about the scratched screen, just put a temper glass cover on the thing. I've been using a p9, even dropped it face down on cement floor from about four feet once, and the screen looks fine. Your review really makes it sound like Huawei's glass are significantly less durable than the iPhones. I don't agree.

No Gorilla glass as Huawei first stated, screen protectors even of expensive kind don't fit well on this screen because of uprising.

I got this phone yesterday and after reading all the reviews about the screen contact Huawei UK directly. They confirmed that the phone has gorilla glass screen. I also thought that a flagship for 460 pounds will have it, especially from the world 3rd biggest telecom company. The exact generation was not mentioned in the product launch documents, but P9 plus has 4th generation so they said most likely it is the same. Overall it is a great phone, proper flagship and i cannot believe i was considering to take Iphone 6S instead with its small screen. I will also get a case since you can scratch any phone in general.

So I am a bit confused, GSM specs state that p9 plus has gorilla glass 4 but regular p9 doesn't, is this correct? As I was planning on getting the p9 plus!

So does this phone come with Gorilla Glass or not? The article says NO, but many other websites say YES. Even the P9 Plus says Gorilla Glass 4 in the gsmarena website.

The omission of protective glass on the P9 is baffling. I have been using a P8 for the last one year and I don't like using protective cases either. I have dropped it countless times and there are visible dents on the aluminium frame. However, not a single visible scratch on the screen or the rear glass around the camera. Sure there are minor scratches, but the way I use it, the fact that they are very few and nearly invisible speak volumes about how good the Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the P8 is. I would have loved to upgrade to the P9 but the lack of protective glass is an absolute deal breaker for me.
