26 August, 2016
The 6GB model that was supposedly headed to China is still nowhere to be seen.

And with this news, there goes my upgrade from S7 Edge. Not gonna upgrade unless there is more RAM (otherwise note7 is identical to S7 series in terms of hardware with nothing new on plate to offer)

Anonymous, 27 Aug 2016Why is 6gb ram soo important for you guys? 4gb is more than... morebecause they think they are heavy user ... like they play game while calling people while download torrent while hacking other computer while listen to music while watching youtube while do a drawing with spen while do 3d drawing while do photoshop while suft internet in one screen

if you are tech illiterate (no offence!), or don't know how to benefit from 6GB, then of course, it's useless.

extra RAM is ALWAYS one of the best investments, that will prolong the lifetime of your device.

Why not with 6GB RAM & 128GB storage???????? Well, probably? Now it will be LG with the V20 to make it possible/available, & if so? Then LG will really deserve the most

6gb is useless at least for now but in coming years it will be the standard because we don't know what developers will make in coming years perhaps apps/games that uses big RAM. But i think next year 6gb won't be a standard yet for developers

meanwhile Samsung will have a 6GB/128GB of N7 with low end chipset. choose wisely :D

4GB of ram and 64GB would be enough 6GB of ram is just a show off.

Rayne , 27 Aug 2016Agreed. And most of them don't necessarily need so much of ... moreSocial media apps are actually great memory hogs. On the other hand IDEs and software development isn't (compiling cares more about cpu than RAM).

So that's exactly right, facebook/twitter/Instagram people need the ram , software engineers need the processing power. That's what I was always saying. Prefer even a mid range SoC as long as your phone has a loooot of ram (as long as you are an average user), that's why Oneplus 3 handily beats Note 7 despite the worse SoC. RAM matters, it's what let's apps never to reload and that's huge on phones

When you have real multi-tasking 64 BIT OS runs its applications simultaneously using 64 bit address space, you need large RAM and excellent processors....I think Google and ARM need to work together in integrating the hardware and OS for better user experience and optimal implementation of Software.

When 2GB was still the mainstream RAM, people acted like 4GB was an urgent need. Now 4GB is here, people demand for 6GB and think 4GB is useless. What's next? When 6GB becomes mainstream, you will say "6GB is useless, we want 8GB!"
