Samsung launches Galaxy Note7 in China with only 4GB of RAM

The 6GB model that was supposedly headed to China is still nowhere to be seen.

    What does 6gb do? The one plus 3 used it as a marketing gimmick, and spec nerds like you seem to have fallen for it. As I said, when it launched, it had incredibly aggressive ram management to the point it did worse than phones with 3gb. Because 6gb is just a marketing gimmick. I've got no more time to spare for a silly kid who doesn't understand this very simple point and even compares it to 1440p display.

            Note 7 came out after OPO3 and the price is almost double, they should've put 6GB

              If note 7 showed real flagship results with 4 gb, No one would be looking for the 6. Its just shame that its results are so laim! If its truly the Sami OS to blame give us one without andlets see how that goes. Ifi it does great job, maybe its time to Sami to be the Nexus producer

                Yeah well, for those like "Whew i didnt get a gimped device at all" or those "Oh wow, my Note 7 is equal everywhere and if it has the Exynos even better :p", dont forget last year Note 5 was also special with the 64GB version, that was meant to be the most expensive and then baam, a few months later a 128GB version emerges, called "Winter Edition". Same thing happened with the S5, with the S5 LTE-A, boasting a QHD display, SP 805 and more ram than its global FHD display, SP 801 and 2GB variant. Note 4 LTE-S was same story, with better antennas than the global counterpart, which allowed for Cat 9 LTE (The one you found only 1 year later in the Edge+/Note 5) rather than Cat 6 and boasting the Exynos over the international versions SP 805. Samsung always released a better version on asian countries, you just wait and see. Power users do feel something before you come here and say everyone is happy.

                I know most will disagree, but Samsung releases next year technology a year before in South Korea for example on theyr devices, to everyones irreluctant surprise.

Which oneplus intentionally crippled by having aggressive ram management. They made it less aggressive, but there is very little evidence to suggest it is doing better than 4gb. Only way you could measure it is by having 20 apps open and trying to see if the first is still open. And that's obviously a useless thing that nobody cares about, not everybody, nobody wants more ram. Oh, except for the fact that using more of the ram on something useless makes the battery life worse. And the nerds who only care about doing speed tests. But I guess it didnt even make any real difference there either.

                  More importantly, the very fact that the most popular 6gb phone had its ram intentionally crippled, shows that they did it as a marketing gimmick and not because they thought it was useful and what people wanted.

                      in fact... u can see how the ppl (at least in the forum) are bashing even more just becuz of those rumours...
                      piece of advice, take ALL the rumours with a pinch of salt no matter where they come from, having said that, it doesn't matter as long as it works with 4GB RAM keeping in mind that a normal phone even with gaming can work with 3GB RAM (obviously depends on the usage and amount of apps oppened at the same time) i think it can be welcome even in China
