Im not using bluetooth that much except in a car. Wifi so far is harmless. Not being close to sender. But something must change because if not this things will happen again

My Dell laptop rejected charging my laptop battery because one day it decided to not 'report in' as genuine.
Nothing had changed; hadn't removed it, it just stopped charging.
I have had a lot of printer inks that reject installation fresh out of the box, because the 'intelligent chip' fails.
Every time we add more parts, there is more parts to go wrong...
Now, 'sensors' sure... add them.
Would have been really easy for Samsung to have engineered an app that looked at plotted temperatures in the battery cell vs system usage (and charging etc).
Could easily make the phone beep to warn us it is about to go 'pop'.
Software, whilst it can fail, in a situation of a worldwide recall that has had custom firmware forced upon all users, could add something for us end users.
Whilst I like the idea of our phones sensors being able to self diagnose and report; the idea of paying a premium to do this just so they can cheapen out on other parts (the inevitable outcome) seems a little rich; especially when we consumers get stung with the bill and the extra failings it might bring.
So, "yes"to knowing about whats going on in our phones
"Yes" for access to servicable parts
I get the rants that 'non sealed phone unit' types are saying; give us user replaceable parts...
To be fair, I have treated quite a few of my 'sealed parts' very poorly. They still perform flawlessly. (Good units/expensive parts) As this race towards mediocrity (super cheap knockoffs) gets into full swing, this might become a really serious problem.
Anyhow- it seems technology just keeps pushing past us.
We humans, showing little foresight, are likely to get caught out.
We play these huge games using the whole of our planet as a petrie dish. If you live in an appartment block- hope you like wireless transmissions excitating your biological mass non stop.
Cause those video game consoles all use wireless controllers (heck I can 'wake' my playstation from my Vita for remote play), cordless phones (less of these nowadays), every product incorporating wireless, from tablets and nintendos, to printers and door locks.
Lots of people are leaning towards lighting and heating controls etc.
Oh and don't forget that governing bodies for these technologies keep approving 'extra range' so we can have new devices with 'added features'.
Bluetooth 30 feet- nah better make that 100feet.
Want to connect to your home wifi network from the train station down the road? Why not!
And as for being on a fast moving train, into a tunnel (as an example) where every persons phone (80%+ carrying smartphones) they will all ramp their aerial power to full.
So people can keep youtubing we all microwave ourselves to shit.
Shitty tech rant over.
Going to go drink a coffee to 'calm down' ;-)

Billions of people in the world; some people do not behave 'as expected'; seriously- stowing onboard luggage in the dedicated locations; what were they thinking?
'Anon' any time you go to write an opinion piece that allows for nobody to think or feel different to yourself; instead of justifying your actions based on 'who you know', perhaps remember 'billions' of people are also doing the crazy sojourn called 'life'. Some people might behave differently.
Saying 'no one you know does this' just tells us about 'who you know'.
Microsoft/Apple/Android -I know people use these things. Maybe I know more than three people?
Everytime I travel in my later life; cool tech toys got stowed overhead (cause I own so many of them)... when I was younger, sure theyd be in my pocket or in sight!

You have no idea when a battery is going to fail so why bash the user?
I have an old e72 as a backup phone and the battery hasnt failed.... i have an s5 i use as a daily and hasnt failed... someones note 7 has failed... you see what im getting at.

Dont use this example as a reason....there are o many variables in this incident that we dont know for certain that it was a genuine or not battery that failed.
Yes the handset is vintage in the world of phones but it is a device that cemented the note series after the 1st gen pathed the way.

When my Galaxy S3 battery did swell, i could at least notice it (as it was removable), and get rid of it. With Note 4, we will hopefully be able to do it...
this is why THE NON-REMOVABLE batteries should be made illegal, and banned.
