Samsung Galaxy Note 2 catches fire on IndiGo flight

23 September 2016
Samsung is now investigating yet another fire caused by a Samsung phone, however, I wouldn’t put the blame on the phone just yet. We’ll get back to why in a moment.

Its quite certain that the user had an aftermarket battery on the phone. Considering how old the Note 2 is by now, it is highly likely that he may have replaced his battery atleast once. I've generally seen that third party batteries sell better in India compared to the originals as they are significantly cheaper. Without a proper investigation, there was no point dragging Samsung into this or generalizing all the "Note" devices. I've owned almost all Note devices except the Note 5, and the Notes are definitely Samsung's best phones period.

investigation is due indeed, there should be no reason (to blame the phone itself) for it to catch fire, there's always the chance though but it's less likely considering it's a Note2 (as the post said) my guess is bad manipulation from user but who knows... still seems too staged since the note7 is already being issued in proper way (although delayed a bit in some coutnries)
