Anonymous, 30 Mar 2017What the hell... what has RAM to do with single core score?Your question is obvious. Of course it'll not affect the single core performance. But if you asked the quality of RAM, then it obviously will make a difference. Faster memory means day-to-day apps will be faster to load (see why iPhone 7 & 7 Plus always dominates every single speed tests) and yes, it DOES have an impact on the single core score (see why every Android flagships that have the same SD820 processor score weirdly different from each other). Optimization is just a basic thing yet Samsung can't do it right, which is why their phones can't even beat the underdogs like OnePlus, HTC, LG, Sony, etc. in performance. Otherwise the S8 and S8+ are easily going to be the top scorer in benchmarks.

Poor strategy by going with 5.8 and 6.2 inch display. and also low battery capacity. Not pocket friendly.

Exynos 8895 is 5% faster in CPU multi than Snapdragon 835. Snapdragon 835 is 10% faster in GPU than Exynos 8895. So largely they are the same SOC, just with small tweaks...nice

                      Lol.
So essentially my OP3T is as powerful as S8!
Now I know people wld say it has a chip based on 10nm process and that it has a better GPU. But both of that is negated by the fact the OP3T's screen is lower res and houses a higher capacity battery.

comingfromreddit, 30 Mar 2017Funny how apple is still unbeatable in single core...If only they had a true quad-core CPU!
                                  The A10 fusion has 2 clusters 1 dual-core power saving and 1 dual-core performance.
They should have made the performance cluster quad-core and 4GB RAM.
Maybe all these are pointless because iOS can run perfectly fine with what it already has but the hardware enthusiast want the best, latest and greatest tech in their electronics.

Computing means parallelism, so the more cores the better. Also, many low-power tasks are better served by small and power-efficient cores. Did you know that your phone is idling for like 20 hours a day ? Why use a huge core to handle idle tasks ? That's why there are high-power and low-power cores, and that's why an Exynos Galaxy S7 Edge lasts up to 72 hours on a charge, while an iPhone 7 Plus barely lasts a day with the same SOT. And that's why the 8-core Samsung Exynos 8890 is much more power-efficient than the Snapdragn 820/821, which prompted Qualcomm to switch to an 8-core design for the 835.

Example, iphone 7 single core doesnt increase much from iphone SE(comparing SE because it is 2016 model just like iphone 7). Comparing it to android only gives an illusion that it score higher every year with new model.
