With Due Respect to Motorola - you guys actually invented the the Mobile phone. I am in two minds
#1 Mr. Jha such a comment should not have come from you. You are the CEO(spokesman) not the IT or R&D guy. Had this come from a developer then there would a grain of truth.
#2 Guys if you have actually developed a platform MotoBlur that will allow the optimum usage of your smart ph. then thats cool.

It IS the reason for jittery sliding on Motorola phones. Rooted phones without Motoblur run MUCH better with the SAME applications.
I guess that's what CEO's do, start playing the blame-game when their own hands are smudgy.

Why is someone comparing Android Market to other stores? Its not the Market's fault per se (bad reporting from GSMArena I think). Its about some of the apps in the market that don't issue warning regarding reduction of battery life etc. Some apps are just real battery drainers.

If you are too careful, you will definitely know that a chicken is fresh or old stock. Why cook it when you know that from the very start, it already smelled bad?
Same thing goes with Android and Motorola. Why would Motorola decide to use Android when they knew from the very start that Android is "too open" that it could potentially cause performance hiccups? I mean, I'm not saying that Android's openness is bad. It's just that, Motorola should go back to work rather than let their mouth do all the work. It's all about improving the hardware and about optimizing and adding functionalities to the software. It's really not just about grabbing a copy of the latest version of Android and then put a shiny Motorola logo on a phone and then mark it as "DONE".
In this case, you are logically offering your guests an undercooked chicken in a party just as how Motorola undercooked Android with their uninspiring MotoBlur UI.
Got the analogy now?

wrong marketing move from motorola, before claiming they have a better program why many people are ruturning thier devices?? secondthe BLUR is it just me or they are just s****d they are claiming BLUR is better but complaining that the android is not good but are'nt all of their latest phones are running on an adroid as well??? one last thing battery life will really shorten if you downloaded a lot of games and apps because YOU ARE USING IT!!!! thats the purpose of downloading a game to play it of course the battery life will shorten duh!!!! my solution for motorola is advice your customers to buy your phones which is also running on an android OS and tell them to download from your moto BLUR but dont use it!! so the battery life of your motorola will last longer rather to those people who are enjoying the games and musics that they are downloading...

I must agree with Dr Sanjay Jha... I purchased a new Galaxy S back in Feb. It worked great until I began downloading apps. From that point forward I've had apps crash like crazy and battery life was pretty bad. It got to a point where some apps never opened again. They kept force closing on me. The phone itself was great hardware but I just don't trust Android and the apps. Now I have a Nokia N8 running Symbian and the performance is outstanding in comparison. Android has a lot going for it, but its becoming the Windows of the smart phone world... Google wants it running on so many handsets that the quality control is suffering.

If the CEO of motorola only knew that the reason they have performance issues is because they build and design terrible phones.
Stick to 2ways and CB radio equipment and cut your losses

Smartphones offer portability that you cannot get from a desktop PC with broadband and multiple monitors. Sometimes, I want to be informed, but it is not convenient for me to access a desktop PC. The idea of smartphone is to keep you informed where ever you are. There is a tradeoff between multiple large screen and portabilities.

Hmmmmmmm, My Atrix runs fine....More powerful and demanding phones firstly deserve much larger batteries.....and who really cares...phone runs out of juice, you charge it up....using a power outlet, usb from a computer, something like a powermonkey or a solar charger.....
Also, stop blaming rubbish apps and make phones powerful enough to cope with such issues from the start...it's no good sticking in dual cores and loads of Ram if you aren't going to spec out for such issues.
By the way, motorola might wanna concentrate on releasing Android 2.3 for the Atrix instead of rubbishing Android Market which is great.....Loving all the great free apps. I CAN PLAY THE GUITAR!!!! I ROCK!!!!!! ;O)
Also why don't they put their money where their mouth is and start producing there own free apps to prove just how well they can be made.....or provide a list to users of all the apps that are sucking the life out of our beloved phones....
I get the feeling that Motorola have some sort control envy issues.....
Anyway the Atrix is a damn fine phone. I think Motorola should think more about working closely with Google/Android to resolve such matters instead bashing the hand that feeds it.....Motorola need to get onboard and not spend another long period in the global phone market wilderness....and believe me if you aren't Apple or not making phone that uses Android as a UI then you are not a business interested in market share and profit....You only end trying to make your own UI which ends up being a poor copy cat version of IOS and Android.
What people want is the choice of phones from different manufacturers but use at their core the same UI with maybe the odd creative flurry on top (Motoblur, Touchwiz, Sense)....shame Apple didn't license out IOS to other phone manufacturers.
If you think about how much money phone manufacturers must save by not persuing their own UI....This money I would have thought be chanelled into maybe releasing phones that have been throughly tested and released without a bug in sight......May be Motorola should concentrate on their own quality control....from reading the forums Atrix 4G's in America seem to be suffering from voice issues etc etc......
As my great, great Uncle Herbert used to say "Make sure your own bed is made before you climb into someone elses".....;O)

GSM arena giving opinions? News reporting should be fair and unbiased, unless you're doing a review or analysis. Investigate this claim before giving opinion.

I've found every Smartphone operating system I have tried; Ios, android, symbian^3, & WM has reliability issues. Specifically they autoneously reboot when interupted by a voice call or SMS. This "feature" degrades the phones core functionality of voice and text.
That is why I prefer the feature phones.
I personally don't find the smart phone "connected" features that appealing on 3.5-5 inch screen. I find a desktop PC with broadband and multiples 20"+ monitors vastly superior at keeping me informed

ok, i work in a phone store, of all the android phones we get back with 'problems' its either the customer being incompetent with the device, OR problems with the rubbish software that some manufacturers/netwprks install on the phone, the phones that are running stock or barely touched software are some of the most reliable we have had, others OS's are WAY more unstable in comparison (eg blackberry/symbian) as long as the intended software is left alone

I believe open is not that bad, the bad part is companies dont care about problems, Motorola blame Android, Android Blam BLUR, but the unhappy people here was final user...
I hope Android take what it needs to be a more stable company for all the users, I don't like argue about whos better since there is a OS for anyone, but I hate people that attack any OS just because they believe one is better than other :P
By the way I go for some Nachos :D
