Stringz87, 09 Oct 2011I'm glad that we can agree on some things. Life and work... morePrecisely, it's a choice on what's best suited for each needs. I use a lot of OS before, from Symbian, Windows, Palm, Android and iOS. Each one has it's own strength and weaknesses, some of them left behind. I chose devices that is simply working right the first time out-of-the-box, plain simple, but packs a lot of power for my high-end needs. I do like Androids for some of its features that I wish iOS has, but those features are not into my high priority, I prefer the stability, the support, and the system, so picked iPhone. It simply works for me.

Be that ios, bb, andriod, windows or symbian. each work well for some things, and not so well for others.

It's a fact that many people buy iPhone because it's an Apple, rightly or wrongly it's called brand loyalty. Their products have a premium image, are well designed, look cool and are easy to use. So saying that many (not all) people buy and iPhone to pose with is not really a sweeping generalisation.
As for the number of apps.. read that article.. from the Economist right, you'd it MUST be true. Now, try searching for how many apps are in the app store online and see how wildly different results you get (500,000 any body?). Even Apple are reluctant to put a figure on it. OK, I stand corrected, it appears Apple do have more, but not enough to make a difference. Out of the quality apps you'd be hard pushed to find one for Apple that isn't available for Android too. So once again.. huge pre-orders? Pose value and bragging rights. Which is odd for something that while well designed and great to use, is also a little underwhelming? I think I rest my case..

... moreWe used Blackberry before iPhone came and I still believe that Blackberry have one of the most secured system. I do respect that. However, they do believe that iPhone security is fair enough for the company (we're not into military or aerospace business anyway) plus the compatibility, stability and usefulness to the current environment. That's how iPhone became the chosen corporate phone.
Yes, Android maybe powerful, but not stable and not compatible with the current infrastructure (i.e.: WPA Interprise support). You don't want executive people rooting, customizing, installing and trying different custom ROM's, they would want a smartphone that is working out-of-the-box.

I would like to point out that i do not endorse hacking or buging in any way shape or form.
However no system is perfect, and it only takes one disgruntled employee to leave a 'backdoor' open and who knows what could happen???

most of my work colleagues are android users and always take a shot @ me about my iphone and no flash support but when the premiere league, champion league football shows on sky sports they all wanna watch it on my iphone LOL i don't need to say anymore there

Many forget that it is not the number of megapixels, but the quality of your lens and software.
My old SE k800i 3.2mp (cyber shot) took a far better pic than a 5mp nok n95.

just a few things to note however.
The bberry system is the only of its kind sactioned by both US and UK government, as it is still the most secure and the most reliable. Ask Obama, he refused to give up his bberry when he went into the white house.
When London was bombed, and our government shut off the phone networks, it was only people with bberries that were able to get messages through because of bis.
Don't get me wrong, without some of the apple products, a lot of the tech we all use would not be so mainstream, but just because a companie spends millions of $ telling people that they are the best, doesn't make it true.
Also now that apple is the top grosing tech company, that makes them target NO'1 for all the hasckers and virus wrighters out there...don't think they can do it??? hacking sony was easy to these people so get protected now is my advice before you loose out.

Looks like the record-breaking sales figure is due to the fact that people want to get the last iPhone version created when Jobbs was still alive.

The company that I worked for dropped Blackberry in favor of iPhone as corporate phone. Being a corporate phone is not by choice of 1 person because it needs to be approved by the management.

In all honesty the specs don't match Samsung's new phone. idunno about HTC etc.... but Samsung is a great phone company!! Before the Iphone came out all I used was Samsung!! but I'm not a very big fan of the Android opertating system. I just find IOS to be so smooth and straight forward.
I have an Iphone 3G and my contract expires this month so it makes perfect sense for me to upgrade to the 4S. I totally think if you have an Iphone 4 you should just wait. whats the point to move to the 4S with such "minor" upgrades. For me its all about UI and Apple's is just way more user friendly. and the 4S in my opinion is pretty badass!

AnonD-4697, 09 Oct 2011You still not get it....People that buy Phones not care abo... moreU are right..People choose the applee brand over other brands because its a very popular and trustworthy brand..apple products always has been on top of consumer satisfaction lists for years other brands are either new or they dont provide what apple does..look at sony they are a trusted household name for electronics so if u are going to buy a tv u would pick up a sony hdtv instead of panasonic or toshiba eventhough those brands are as good as sonys u tust the sony tv because its popular..its the same way with apple..u are also right about people not caring much about specs..we are geeks thats why we know what kind of specs each phone has and should have bt most people dont..most people want a smartphone that does everything they need like calling texting browsing music camera and gaming..now people dont look at wht kind of specs a android phone has they look for games that this particular handset can run but when they see that it cant they go for the iphone...people has been doing that for years with gaming consoles ps3 or xbox 360 has 5 year old gpu but people use them for gaming instead of using a pc that is10 times more powerful than those consoles

and there it goes again. haters or not, i predicted that preorders would fly because most of the people who will buy the phone wont even care about the specs.they just know that they used previous itteration of the iphone and they liked it, thus thinking that the newer model is suitable for them
