26 October, 2011
This could mean more legal trouble for Android OEMs and Android itself if Apple decides to take legal action.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2011Does the Android way of unlocking via connecting the dots count?I don' think so.. that dot thingy actually doesn't have a predefined path.. we as users define them ourselves, so technically it is not manufacturer-specified..

crapple would do anything to become the rightfull owner of everything. now with this retarded thing every company that invents something will imediately patent it and there will be improovement. apple will go down because it will have no ideeas left to steal. So unwilingly crapple dug theyre own grave with this.

This is just stupid, why be so picky on how a phone unlocks. I wish Motorola would just take everyone to court for copying there first idea of a mobile phone and take full control by slapping these other phone companys round the ear and tell them to grow up! ps I'm putting a patent in for how your legs move back and fore whilst walking so watch out.

Tom-Helge, 26 Oct 2011http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/08/25/dutch_judge_s... moreYup this was what I was indicating also, its decided by courts and authorities anyway, so what's the big deal, same as fingerprint to unlock patents, and facial recognition to unlock patents. The real noise here is probably because the words 'Apple' and 'iPhone' appeared in the article in my opinion.

If apple do decide to go after tha manufacturers it will be really petty and just show how childish they really are! In other words they need to grow up! This all comes back to Steve Jobs wanting to, as quoted in the BBC technology section "Destroy Android". Even in the passing of Jobs, Apple will continue the war against Google but won't go up against them directly, they'll just go after the smaller parties like the manufacturers using Android (Samsung, HTC).

Mick, 26 Oct 2011Surely all android unlock mechanisms are affected, not just... moreno dude, predefined means predefined. to Unlock on the touchwiz ui by samsung you don't need to follow a predefined path, you just sweep in any direction you prefere to unlock. same on the newer htc sense ui. simple.
