how about nokia releases a public apology for the inter-galactic-level-fail that N97 is ! and along with that apology also a simple froyo build. Is that really too much since people have spend 5-6oo euros when it was realesed. A plain simple vanilla froyo could be made for this head of junk, it sure would turn around a lot of users whole left nokia for android...lots of people still use theyr n97 as paper weights everyday.
Come on Nokia. Do you have the balls ?

i'm excited for the update... if i knew that there wouldn't be any updates after Symbian Anna maybe i would buy the N9... But now i will wait (to 99%)!

Infact it was clarified by Nokia earlier this year that only Symbian^3 OS will get Anna and Belle upgrades. Devices running S60 v5 a.k.a. Symbian^1 did not have enough hardware power to support Symbian^3/Anna/Belle.
Similarly as per un official news, Symbian Carla will not come to N8/C7, etc as its needs atleast 1GZ processor like 700, 701, etc. Symbian Donna will be exclusive to dual core phones.

you guys are funny... be happy that they are bringing out belle at all for older symbian phones. and if they would bring out the update together with the new phones 700 and 701, they wouldn't sell that much newer devices.

I have been a loyal Nokia fan for years. Their design, the tough phones and the battery life has always attracted me. However now they are losing a lot of points. This update postponing thing is pissing off every user(including me and I own an E6).
My next mobile phone WILL NOT be a Nokia anymore

I was on the verge of selling it for a Samsung with Android Gingerbread, then flashed and tried Belle. It has changed my phone so much so and so stable and much faster than Anna. Now I've decided to keep my C7 for some more time because it is so reliable and enjoyable, finally joining the big player OS's.

its like what happened with symbian anna... It took mid 2011 until it was released... Its a lot better not give out any date as to when updates will be released instead of giving out false hopes especially to nokia avid consumers...perhaps if tech sites stops featuring lumia 800 and the other WPs that are about to be released, nokia may then think twice on releasing belle sooner...

Recently nokia 5800xpressmusic (the oldest symbian nhd screen device) and nokia 5530 has treated anna.
s60v5 device has updated only belle integration user interface and browser.
