SE were never lazy, late updates were because of their mediascape UI porting. now they have ditched that application and all future updates will be faster than any other company.

Just get a Lumia 800 and stop worrying about updates. Android is buggy, malware and virus ridden and it's nothing compared to WP 7 Mango.

Give it a try and you'll never go back to the boring Android and its old UI. Help Nokia regain its crown and you'll feel like a winner. With Android, you'll feel like a loser!

"LG has been slow with the Android updates till now, choosing to launch their phones with an outdated version instead "
Maybe you wanted to write "updated" instead of "outdated"?

"seem to be doing an even better job compared to the likes of Samsung and HTC."
A "better job" is updating in 6-9 months instead of 1-3 months? Or are you referring to Samsung's wish not to update Galaxy S phones with ICS?

And people said that SE are late. They're not. The only mistake is that they won't bring an update to LG Swift Black. It's the ultimate mid-end phone and they could prolong its lifespan that way.

To guys crying about Samsung and Galaxy S please tell me any android device that was every upgraded twice.
Galaxy S was updated from Eclair to Froyo and then to Gingerbread. Galaxy S is presently on 2.3.6.
If anyone so much want ICS on Galaxy S, why not head over to XDA!!
HTC desire cried so much before they could even taste Gingerbread.
And LG updates take forever to come. If my phone will get ICS update Q3 next year, then I would av bought a new phone by then!

Andy, 26 Dec 2011Sony is giving out ICS to the first line of their phones sm... moreI don't know, but end march isn't mid Q1 in my book and beginning of April already falls under Q2 if you ask me. So how does early April differ from LG's Q2? Of course, first will have to see if it happens, but they finally really came through with their Gingerbread releases in November. That everybody with a non-Open Europe phone expects to get the update right at the same day is their own fault somewhat, for ignoring the important part of news-items.

Anyhow, I can imagine that porting ICS to a phone like the Optimus 3D take a while extra, not so much for the SoC, but the whole 3D enviroment and software should work properly and that sort of thing can take quite a while. Nobody wants a non-functional phone which only feature is having the latest (non-proper working) OS.
