Android is cheap, and that's why it sells crazy.iOS brought something new to the people, smooth and sleazy. But not anyone has deep pockets.

I work for a mid-sized company, it was last year we dumped all the blackberry devices and moved to iPhone and let me tell you it is rock solid!... we use iPhone all across our organization about 2.5 - 3k iOS devices. we choose this after going through various tests and different devices.

Android is not bad but still need improvements, its not sturdy as iOS and definitely not for serious Smart Phone users.

And new drivers choose Ford over Ferrari, this is by far one of the most stupid researches, iPhones cost >€500, you can have android for about €100.

Setting aside the fact that most poll buy Android (new or old, it accounts for most of the market..)

I read some where before that enthusiasts prefer open source..fed...they would prefer that..and that's the sole reason why there is a gp of device called 'nexus' among the Android line up..those volunteers from enthusiasts, usual djinn people, and tech ascus, who review most of google pre release forms..to make it better ..(unlike apple...who try to keep everything a big secret and on one fine day come up with the new device..how ever crappy it might actually be...just like the launch of iPhone 4.. On pointing which out the 'big company' acted as if people were holding the phone wrong...leaving that we all know what happened to the owner of Gizmodo for reviewing a pre release version for common people)..

lets leave all those out..and still consider this on a broad unbiased basis (to start I began with symbian, then apple, and last Android ..I explain that as the improvements brought about by each of these companies...)

But clearly Android does a lot more than apple without calibrating, or rooting or what ever it be called..
After jail breaking or rooting, still..Android does a little more than apple..
So that itself puts Android in the lead..

But what happens with most die hard apple fans is that...since they vnt seen an Android phone properly or dunno how to use one..they come up with all the out the ordinary reasons...

Just a comparison of that with the PC world...my uncle who helped me buy my recent laptop (a moderately powerful one with great screen and 3d argued a lot about apple notebooks and all till he saw the performance of mine..and I have him a look around in it..and showed him the diff with apple..he was blown over...

As an operating system apple is NOT horrible..I don't think any Android fans would say that either..all I tell you is look for real at both..test it's functions and then decide..

And like somebody mentioned earlier..since diff companies come out with their own versions of Android..there is more chance that it falls into likes of more people since even in a family of 3 you would find 3 different tastes!...

                With such wide price range..!

Now high end Android phones are costly although may be not as costly as iPhone but still they are costly ..buy the benefit is you get more money value..

I am not entering the resale market..since I am not a reseller..I still have all the diff phones I be used so far..but I be heard Androids do loss their resale value a tad more than I phone..but I be also heard that phones like wildfire a ve even better value than iPhone!..so since that actually is a variable section I don't why it should be discussed..

Yes, if something is cheap and free majority of the people are going to us it. Just because every one is using it does not mean it is the best.

Another factor to consider is, smartphone first timer usually will ask their "techie" friends who probably prefer open source. As 1 guy buy Android, the other first timer will see the 1st guy and follow him.

Android users don't need a computer to use their phones... The point is, you can use your phone like a netbook, not with one.

I guess here that those are some obvious quarter results! Why?

Well, when a firm just chooses to make its operating system closed and use it in one and a single device (Apple case), it will drops sooner or later its market share (I really imagined there's a year or two what's really happening to RIM now) because simply, one product will certainly not satisfy more than a few millions of user needs ! And exactly here's the Android OS main advantage ! A great OS (even your microwave can use it btw) Many brands use it on their smartphone lines which imply more shapes, more choices, more colors, more personnality and caracters matching and so on !

And now, do you really think that you'll see a coming day, iOS market share overstepping Android's one ?

APPLE soner or later will have enought of the 7% that is having in the PC's sector !

57% of first-time buyers picked up a droid, followed by 34% joining the Apple family....Im pretty sure if apple made a £49.99 iPhone, then THEY would be number 1 for ist time smart phone buyers

AnonD-19320, 09 Feb 2012Now which phone is the best is a tricky question.. All I c... moreI totally agree with your opinion, I would had said something similar, but you already did it, so congratulations here there's finally someone who understands the definition of a smartphone, I totally agree when you mention that if you are old then the iPhone suits you and that's absolutely true.

Definition of iPhone: A low-range smartphone sold as a high-range smartphone packing an old processor, few amount of RAM Memory, a cheap camera, and a horrible OS (iOS), all inside of the worst phone case ever created were materials look extremely cheap, in conclusion you get a low-range smartphone were apps would constantly crash and you won't be able to play a single title like Modern Combat 3 without it crashing just as several games do on iOS(Apple's Mobile OS), you will also feel very sad when you realize materials are and look cheap not to mention the need of "Jail-breaking" if you want to install an app from another source.

                                      Tired of your iPhone?

Android is definitely superior in every aspect, you are capable of installing any app from any source without modifying anything, you can port your computer apps to your Android device, and as it is a Linux-based OS you are getting a computer instead rather than a smartphone, isn't it cool?

All I can say is that Android is the future!
