@kerotine : yeah..most of them look like an iphone. but android is not d issue here. just trying to say that NOKIA is falling down a bit is just beacuse they cant give the APPS that most users are looking for..

You might find similarities between, say, the Samsung Galaxy range and the iPhone but rest assured most Android Devices look nothing like the iPhone. Plus, it's not like the iPhone invented the iPhone look per se, I'm pretty confident they took styling cues from other devices that pre-dated it.

nokia phones are great.im actually considering to buy a new phone from nokia..i dont care if its s40 or what coz i know that nokias are known for being cheap yet durable devices..im also an adroid user, this is just my opinion, IF NOKIA WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE TONS OF APPS FOR THEIR PHONE, i BET, android users will be reconsider getting a nokia phone.. i mean,to be honest, android phone's designs are all the same.u cant even recognize them.they all look like an iPhone..they're just adding some letters to their models like " S " R " W" Y "PLUS" etc... no offense to android users..this is just my opnion.

And S40 will be repl... moreWhy do western companies keep shooting themselves, and their employees (aka citizens who have made them what they are today) in the foot or feet rather? I'm currently in China, which was once a poor country, and I can literally see how they became the 2nd largest economy overnight; Just about every western company is here in some shape or form trying to save a dime. The lax labour laws and no minimum wage is certainly attractive to companies, but the result is exploitation in China and unemployment and despair at home. Of course, these are all things we overlook when we go to buy our new shiny toys - simply because we're not people, just consumers. I liked NOKIA because they were different. What a shame. Oh, Meego, you will be dearly missed.

"Personnel reductions are planned to be phased through the end of 2012, so we will only see if Nokia made the right decision come the first 2013 financial result."

No we won't. Financial results published in 2013 is likely too early to see whether this is the right decision or not. You need to consider the costs of the transition. Shutting down and starting up plants incurs substantial costs and recapturing those through cost, or speed, advantages will take time.

And that is the reason you can´t call it despite of its quality software.. y know it is phone and you should call it not play apps like children use to do...no offence and one thing more I won´t buy anything made in china that was the reason I sold my lumia 800 and bought white n9.

the new lumia 800 is Nokia's new hope to survive the competition but costs a small fortune to purchase in Europe, during times of decreasing buying power for the many and when cheapness eats out the expensiveness, it would be more strategic for Nokia to drop the Lumia's price to widely sell more units and bring more customers to windowsOS and to the brand itself
