AnonD-16334, 05 Mar 2012Man are you tired of finding these rare case articles?I adv... moredude am an android fanboy aswell. but give the credit to nokia this time. this has nothing to do about OS. This is HARDWARE. Camera ,imaging. This can be put to an android device too but it won't since nokia thought it first and not our beloved android manufacturers. again...damian dinning said "they won't be sharing the technology". anyway.. we still beat them on a lot of things

Ale, 05 Mar 2012Well it seems all the excitement from the Symbian crowd was... morei think nokia decided release some symbian set with pure viwe technology for better upgradation to wp so that it compete with android. bcs there is a big gap produce in nokia os and others. people now want perfection. they want hardware with best os and also good back up. most of the companys camera not so good bt others is very good. bettery issue they give higher battery like 2000mah. this is not the talk. talk is symbian now a days capture 18% market share so if some new set releas they keep their position. in the mean time they make a os if wp or symbian which give duar or quad core for the people which they want now. and pure view technology give it perfection. like giving the technology with 20 or 16 mp sensor. thats all.

AnonD-3575, 05 Mar 2012i dont know about that, a lot of american biased review sit... moreI agree WP still has alot missing, but then it's still a relatively young platform.

I wouldn't mind betting Nokia are hoping Pureview can give WP (at least on their own devices) an edge, something they can use to separate themselves form the pack and to forge ahead, much like the app store did for IOS.

Maybe it'll work, maybe not. I for one do not wish to see Nokia back on top as the last time they were number 1 in this industry they gave us such 'wonderful' devices as those that that ran the s40 and s60 software (I still shudder to think of it)

I prefer Nokia as the underdog; they seem to be more innovative.

But it seems clear either way that Nokia believe Symbian's best days are over which I suppose could be considered ironic seeing as how Symbian's best days were also its worst.

Ale, 05 Mar 2012Well it seems all the excitement from the Symbian crowd was... morei dont know about that, a lot of american biased review sites didnt give the n8 any chance, but it sold pretty well.
I wouldnt say that a pureview lumia wouldnt sell, but will it outsell the 808. it difficult to tell, a lot of long term nokia fans dont like wp. i myself am more intersted will hardware bits and pieces like fm transmitter, usb on-the-go, hdmi,... see their way onto wp. mass memory storage would also be a big plus in the sw section

Well it seems all the excitement from the Symbian crowd was for nothing, I was listening to a podcast yesterday from another popular web tech site.

It stated that the 808 was really just a proof of concept, meant mainly to introduce the pureview technology (which would explain the 808’s rather mediocre specs in all other departments)

Nokia began working on this technology 5 years ago when symbian was pretty much the only option. Now though things are different.

Nokia have high hopes and big plans in the future for pureview, and they don't seem to include symbian.

If you look at the latest article on the Gsmarena site it looks as though they are already hard at work bringing pureview to windows 7 where I'm sure it will be put to better use, and seeing as how there is extra hardware (that is separate from the SOC) in the 808 required to run the pureview camera, it shouldn't be to much of a problem.

This camera on a Windows phone 7 device may just be worth a look, on the back of a symbian though.....no thanks!

There is no crappy OS. OS are design in terms of needs and wants of consumer who will be using it. For example, Androids are based for Geeks and Somewhat techies who want to squeeze every drop of ablity of a technology for things important or for fun. iOS are for the average, That's why iOS was tag or their marketing shout against Windows before was "user Friendly". Blackberry is for business, providing the best of security for data and information privacy, symbian are for simple people w/ simple needs and doesn't want to be bothered by technicalities. Windows are classic, users are those who want to stick w/ familiar grounds and doesn't want to try new stuffs. aside from these basics, extra preferences like camera, formfactor, price also affect the choices of individuals. you are being a child if you say "that OS is a crap mine is not". they have their strengths and weaknesess, there is no ultimate OS....YET.
