Why does GSMArena always post a strange rumor against WP or Symbian then updates article?

Since this article was published on GSMArena i knew it was wrong because i've already checked interview on WMPoweruser and Engadget.

It would not make sense for current WP phones to not be upgradable to WP8. That's just ain't MSFT.

Nokia lumia phones will NOT get update to Apollo. They are saying it will just for marketing. This source is directlly from Nokia. Ask dirrctly to Nokia and you will see what will they say. This really sucks.

AnonD-2349, 18 Apr 2012you still didnt got by what i meant, read my statement agai... morewhen people buy a phone they rely on the brand not the developers also not everyone is interested in rooting theirs phone and install custom ROM as brand and consumer you have to consider that

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2012ya sure, the GS2 will get ICS like the Galaxy S got the ICS... moreyou still didnt got by what i meant, read my statement again...

"ya s2 will surely get jelly beans and even key lime pie ( if thats the name of the next ver )
you see, thats the power of android ( i also meant a open source os )
my two years old galaxy 3 ( not s3 dumbos just 3 )was not given any support after froyo yet now i have a dual boot on it with one os ICS ( still work in progress ) and one gingerbread.

same is with sgs1, even if samsung stopped support at gingerbread, i am sure it will be one of the first devices to get jelly bean and it has already recieved ics from developers. SO WHAT ITS NOT OFFICIAL, OUR DEVICES WILL STILL GET THE UPDATES no matter oem choose to give or not.

this can be only seen in android os and until you get a android, you will not get what exactly i meant..""

              now think of 2 scenarios
              1) ms decided not to update or nokia decided not to update their devices at some point than there phone is stuck with that os only.

              but in android
2)if a company decides not to update a phone lets say sgs 1, it will still get the latest version of os even after 4 years because of developers at xda, samsung didnt released a ics for sgs1 but you can get a fully functional ics for it.

when key lime will come, samsung will not even look at sgs1 but still key lime will be available to sgs1 people via modded firmwares and it will run them
but if nokia decides not to provide appolo for lumia then you can never get it...

              now u get it

[Updated] my comment now with the new info.

I Agree with having updates now, just like i now like the restrictions in Zune , and know they are for anti-piracy because DivX and Xvid videos are bad for us

I agreed before when they said it wasn't getting Apollo as i thought it was great to help Nokia out with hardware sales and didn't mind buying another Phone for
                    the WP8 version.

Either way it's a win for Nokia, Windows Phone and Elop.

I stopped visiting the verge site just after the Lumia 900 review and I'd encourage others to follow the suit.

Funny how gsm arena doesn't include it's standard "take with a pinch of salt" maxim when delivering sensationalist and potentially harmful news concerning Nokia/Microsoft.

now you guys got the answer. Dont just speak on seeing a fake news. I know how many android phones were not been updated even a single time.

MS is very good at updates. No one can stop the growth of WP7. Awaiting the Apollo update . Its gonna blow out every other OS. :)

GsmArena. Thanks for quickly posting an update even if its not iphone & Apple related. Proved your credibility. Now Android and Apple users, Nokia or MS not upgrading something doesn't mean Android or apple is better. Dont kill something because you love something else. ultimately all the companies are in business for money and as a end user the more options you have the better. If you are a CEO of Android or Apple, i can understand you wishing the other platform dead, cause it increases your market share. Just stop the herd mentality mainly Android and apple fans.. Be sane

Okay, the Verge is a bunch of idiotic Nokia haters. They'd do anything to make Nokia+MS look bad. Of course Mango will update to Apollo. MS is not Apple, is it?

I think it was a dirty ads game from someone against MS and Nokia.

as i read a lot, it seams like its a Media campaign against MS, they fight to kill WP.

yes, Android is better(the best phone os) now, but even for now, it's not as fast as WP nor organized or smooth or social...

as i was an "Android" user across lot of devices, and an old user of iOS, and used the new iOS sometime on my friends phones, and switched to WP about 2 month ago, i should say android still the king for now, just because of freedom, but for all other things, WP is more than great, it's a phone that is designed to match all your needs, especially social's.

i think i wrote too much :P , i hope Apolo will cover missing features. hope that every one tries WP (even on his friend's device), you will love it....

I really admire apple with their updates even with their oldest devices(iPhone 3GS). Microsoft, can't you see what your problem is? You don't update your devices, which makes your buyers very mad and be discouraged to buy another product from you. You should give considerations. Also, if you think that not being able to update our own windows phone devices will make us buy another windows phone, think again, we'll just buy an android device since it has more features and capabilities that wp.

think its silly to think Nokia will accept that in 6 months their super amazing Windows Phone Lumia 900 (for example) will not be upgradable.
