image? what image? I think htc should be more reasonable, rather than doing something different than the other giant, like samsung or sony, what's wrong with low end phones anyway? not everyone have a htc phone, I dont a htc phone, low end phone can be a "sample" or secondary phone for those people, if people satisfied, then maybe they will buy more of htc products, well, thats what I thought

It wont release Lower end devices? With no lower spces than desire C? Gee ain't Desire C a lower spec device with lower end specs with a medium-end price? C'mon HTC you're not Apple and don't try to be. Asking big price for low product.

Kinda weird how many fanboys of other brands lurk around this page. If you like Sony, Samsung, Apple, Nokia LG (etc) that much, Then submit reviews on their respective pages instead, unless you guys are really bitter with HTC :P

Its either you never had owned one or is just playing Mr Know it All. If so, Then tell me (in full details) Is there ever any perfect phone and mobile company on the market?

HTC has come a long way on the mobile road. And the reason of doing this is for the customer itself. I have been using HTC phones for a while and yes I AGREE that their customer is not the best. (I hate their tech people!)

One of the reason itself is because whenever they realease a low-end unit, people expect too much from it (Firmware updates, software, accesories etc) Why don't we have this, Don't have that and so on.

Its rare to find a cheap super phone does it all nowadays. Its how technology is. You need to pay to get the most of it. But mobile companies always release different models with almost the same specs. You just need to find the one that suits your NEEDS and fits your BUDGET. Also LEARN about tweaking your phone. That way you will know how to maximize its capabilities it.

just want 2 say..we dont care about htc...'quiety silent'.
Make some one x,s and keep ur mouth shut..sony and sammy rocks.. Xperia tipo, galaxy y,lg l3 rocks...& one more fact

              Brand IMAGE..??
Sony,Sammy has a better brand image in INDIA..very few people knows about htc(& few service centre), result?=bad resale value=total failure..

              Conclusion,

Go for Sony.. Beautiful handsets. Much better service. More reliable.( better than SAMSUNG)

Honestly, I didn't know you could get a lower spec Android phone than the HTC Desire C (processor/RAM-wise and not camera or anything).

All the previous versions of desire r cheaper now coz of the pricecut but cutting prices after 1-2 yrs doesn't help.htc do come up with a expensive launch price than their competition(leaving crapple obviously).
Even in the one series the pricetags of one v(whose competition offer affordable dual cores)and one s are more than their competing handsets respectively.
htc does make solid built phones but unibody phones is not the only solution to gud built phones and i think they concentrate their resources on it more hence more costly.

                              1. Even One X has the Samsung Image sensor(GS2). It's only either Sony or Samsung who is actually making a sensor for mobile phones. Therefore HTC is the third place at their best effort.

                              2. Don't give Beats audio crap. It's only a software gimmick(sound equalizer) like Bravia. It's either Wolfson, Yamaha or SoC.

deepairdiver, 14 Jun 2012well done to HTC for stating their brave position. it will ... moreHTC has never been a Ferrari or Porche. Since the Desire, HTC phones weren't expensive as Nokia or Samsung, even SE at some points in the highend market. Of course, not to mention that Apple.

ppl aren't willing to pay extra premium for HTC. Galaxy S was expensive than Desire, but it still sold well. Galaxy S2 was expensive than, probably the most of Sensation siblings. Now Galaxy S3 was preordered over somewhat 9 millions which HTC never achieved. Does that tell you something? I don't even need to mention Apple and Nokia.

By the way, the only Samsung phone with (real) good sound and camera is the Wave 3. Sure, HTC's sound and camera are not the best (cannot compete with Sony here) but please, let's not bring Apple and Samsung into this topic too. Plus, i don't think one can match Sense UI with other OEM UI out there. As far as i can go back with HTC, they have the only Android smartphones which are usable with stock ROMs. Get your facts together.

Stupid... they will end up just like Nokia

What "premium" image are they talking about anyway... Nothing they make is 100% good, their HTC Quadcore, are quad core phones, right, but all the rest fails...

In the only part they excel is "build materials", but unfortunately materials do not matter on how the phone performs.

Camera? Not as good as competitors
                                        Sound? (Headphones attached) awful

A premium phone maker addresses all these issues. From what I've seen, only Apple and Samsung are doing these with their flagship models.
