How is it like the iphone when you have to use a stylus? No pinch, rotate? Besides unless they can squeeze Mac OSX in it...They won't be beating the iphone any time soon.

Thought there will be difference in there that this will be just one of those TS phones. There will be many S60 5th edition releases in 2008 and this phone is just low end like Symbian-freak said and he was impressed with that flagship phone, but i think it might be more about the features, screen size than how has that TS input done and so on.

OMG, come to think of it, Nokia took so long to come up with a touch-screen handwriting recognition device and they think this can beat the iPhone?
Motorola had its MING A1200 with these handwriting recognition capabilities in English and Chinese a long long time ago.

i was hoping this phone is the one to beat iphone. Using a stylus to text is so outdated... ever since iphone. Looks like we will need to wait for another phone to beat iphone.

To all of you saying that this interface sux.. Have you ever tought about that ppl don't want to get use to the new UI even if the old one stinks. This nokias interface is very common and most of the ppl can start using this phone as soon they'll get one because they wount need to learn new things.
And please explain how is this UI inferior to that of SE or to the iPhone. Eye candy isnt everything.

I usually say "oh those cheap looking plastic Nokias" But in this case they did a pretty good job and it looks better than the iPhone in one very essential aspect ... it LOOKS like a PHONE, not a freaking cd case or something which proves the iPhone ridiculous.
Good for Nokia.

hey man, the world 1st camera phone is Sony Ericsson. don't think wrong, I am truly nokia fans as well. obviously there isn't anything special about nokia tube touch UI….i prefer the N810 more than this….

The level of retardedness of comments here never seases to amaze me.. example: having the OPTION to use a stylus does not mean you HAVE to use it. Thinking sometimes helps.

And the difference between iPhone and this? The theme isn't decided for you; S60 offers levels of customisation that the iPhone can only dream of. UIQ was underrated in my opinion and there are a good few implementations of UIQ that are a lot more resilient than their S60 counterpart, but the fact remains that UIQ is very much in second place in terms of popularity.

looks nice, what are the exact features of this phone?
does it have a qwerty keypad? or alpha numeric?
because sadly, after you have your fun of touch screen typing/writing, its not that practical for a heavy texter.

Why they still use the old style UI?
I don't understand Nokia! This device suppose to battle Iphone. This old UI can't make up to Iphone's OSX, even this nokia Tube will have great specs it will still looks like an inferior device.
Even UIQ3.3 of SE Paris looks better then this.

Each Nokia beats down every SE. The Xperia is a good begin, but it's too big and unhandy, I can tell, I played with a prototype already.
