I've been able to do this for ages on my S2 using the Go EX Launcher app. It does take over your phone somewhat but it looks amazing and there are a number of useful apps. I'm not advertising Go EX here, I'm just saying that if Android behaved more like Go EX, it would offer a much easier and friendlier experience.

      2.2 laggy
2.3.3 still laggy (promises reduce lag)
2.3.4 still laggy (promises reduce lag)
2.3.5 still laggy (promises reduce lag)
4.0 still laggy (promises reduce lag)
4.1 still seen to be laggy (promises reduce lag)
4.1.2 "bug fixes and promises a boost in performance"

Seems to be a pattern here. But not to fanboys

The OS is flawed from design decisions on day 1 -hint "touch priority"
Garbage collection system.leads to lagging over time.

read up on why it still has on going issues.
      **
Heard the rumour about Google working on a secret new OS that is apk compatible with Android for that very reason.

aswell as bloggers writing positive comments about android, ios and windows 7/8 interface.

In the end its about a matter of personal choice, since i have no problem with my SG2 and galaxy note 10.1 interface.

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2012that isn't a nexus device. it IS a nexus 7.. its pretty easy to recognize.. the new JB format for the homescreen which resembles the phone UI rather than the tablet UI, the onscreen buttons.. its pretty obvious..

If you are talking about the widgets then that another story - but thena gain, widgets can't all the the same size as the information is different per app.

You guys need to do an article on how terrible androids interface is. After this long, things should be better. Uneven icons. Undeterred icons. Big ones, small ones all over the fking place. Google needs to get their ish together. Use some of that money and hire a fking graphics designer. All this crap is basic crap you learn even in high school. The only reason I'm still with then is be cause apple sucks so bad.

I swear if windows brings something even remotely decent on the market I'm gone!
