I proud to be android fan. Every 2-3 months there are alway some new phone come out that excite all users. While all ifans are boring like hell the whole year, nothing new or exciting until the holidays. You can put your shinny metal phone under your pillow when sleep at night. Hahahaa .....

nobody care about the material,plastic is ok!! people change their phone every year or every time there is a new phone

Samsung has to have a different radical design for the s4.
Thats why apple's iphone 5 was a bit of a letdown because it had the same design as 4s.
People don't want a recycled look because it gets old.

you know what? I'd take plastic with removable battery/ micro SD card and wireless charging any day over metal body.
You know why samsung sells? because they offer the most complete package: software features(sbeam, smart stay) and hardware wise (spen)...
oh ,, and most importantly advertising.

True that they are all made of plastics, but the sad part is that we are buying them......i really feel for the price we are paying to get them, they feel very cheap looks like my 1yr old son's toy phone. if u look at the prices today of S2 its close to $365 however when it released it was $640, which means that although its almost half its rate now they would still make profit hence, just imagine how much profit they would have made in the initial months of the phones release. HTC quality is much better.

Please find better plastic from another GALAXY but not from planet earth.
The plastic in the gs3 is proven fragile and ugly.

pity all apple fans only can say "it's made by plastic" well sure I'm not gonna buy some phone, tablet or any gadget by it's build quality, I buy it because the usability the feature the flexibility, so stop whining it's made by plastic and start to think why your great build quality phone is not better than the one made by plastic

My PLASTIC SG3 works like a charm, by the way most people don't care, since they dress their $500 plus smartphones with a case, people look for features first and foremost, two of them are removable battery and micro SD card support, since most of these phones have pretty much all the same internals, who gives a crap about a metal body, when it is void of features people want.

If there is a polycarbonate removable battery cover, you can always change it if it gets scratched or if you get bored due to the color of it. For the S3 there are a wide variety of battery covers available and it makes sense to change it as your phone gets a new look. On the other hand the non removable glass back covers and aluminium back covers are to be protected using a case which hides the original look of the phone itself. Technically plastic is more suited for the antennas to work efficiently which results in better call quality.
