I think it's a super ridiculous price for such a product, where you get a Google Tensor 2 (Exynox rebranded), the eternal bugs dedicated to the Google brand and a very weak battery, with a very very slow charge! If I have nothing to do with money,I'd rather buy 2 various flagships like Samsung-Huawei than to pay this money!

no benefit, 11 May 2023cant see what real benefit does a folding phone offers. Im... moreYeah. And you will start seeing the benifitd when a apple announces a foldable phone in 3 years claiming. Its a foldable like no onve ever invented..

Midranger for 1800 with same CPU and GPU like Pixel 7A and for 1800 vry funny to be honest.
Maybe google will pay you to buy this.
There are no such stupid humans who would spend 1800 on a idranger with zero durability on main screen.

Just can't pull the trigger on this fold-able, the reputation of pixel in the past means £1800 is a huge investment...

It makes a lot of difference when reading articles on the Internet on the big, internal screen, or basically consuming any other written media. Checking weather. Browsing restaurant's online menu, or planning a trip. I had test driven ZF4 for a week and it makes a difference for me.
I agree watching Netflix - if being one of the most commonly performed tasks on your phone - makes no sense on a foldable, in which case stick to the classic one.
Just saying there are scenarios when the big, internal screen makes sense but if you're not one of those people then I understand the pros of such construction are not among your needs.

Those bezels aren't the most elegant but to be fair, I would love to test drive Pixel Fold to form an opinion in reality, my ZFold4 test drive changed my mind about a lot of things I thought I wouldn't like.
But as it stands, Google doesn't care selling their phones in my country so I have no dilemma there, situation pretty much resolved itself for me =) Google's loss, Samsung's gain.

notice how it's basically marketed as a phone with a built-in phone stand. absolutely insane.

Until the day a real benefit appears, these folding phones are more more people who just have to have the latest stuff in their pockets. Being a mechanical engineer, I feel that moving parts are always the POF of anything mechanical. As you pointed out, it would have been forgivable should there is actually real benefit to all this. And no, having a built-in phone stand isnt one of it.

Imagine watching netflix on this folding phone... I dont benefit from the technically larger screen because movies are all in 16:9 format. So what we get is just larger borders on the top and bottom of the display.

In fact, I get messages every few minutes. Just imagine the hassle of having to fold/unfold the phone so so so many times throughout a train ride, or through the day. Impractical.

probably the best looking foldable to date. but the inside bezels are such a turn off.

Either wait for second and third gen or if you can't wait, import the Tecno Phantom V Fold to US

                                  1. Google Pixel Fold
                                  2. Motorola Razr 40 Ultra

I'll probably pass on the Razr 40 Ultra and the standard Razr 40 looks exactly like a Z Flip 3 and 4. I'm not feeling the new design of the Z Flip 5 with that folder-shape cover display. I still think the Razr 5G that Michael Fisher showed in his previous video is still the sexiest foldable flip phone ever released. I might also be biased since I'm typing from one right now.

I kinda want a book-style foldable this time. No need to keep opening the phone. I guess Google surprised me today. Looks better than I originally assumed it would be. I've seen schematics of the Z Fold 5 and it looks no different than the Fold 4. Samsung pretty much uses the same design for 3 or 4 generations like automobile makers.

The more squarish shape works for me because many of my content is in 4:3. That's from old sitcoms and video games prior to the 16:9 ratio being more common by the mid-2000s. I never got the Find N or N2 but I'm glad I waited for this. This is probably the right book-style foldable for me. Right size but not the right price...yet.

I don't care what the iPhone 15 Pro looks like. I think this is the Phone of the Year for me. At least for Android. It brings nothing new. We've already seen Z Folds and Find Ns. But I don't see another Android smartphone that will interest me as much as this for the rest of the year.
