Lesser size of the screen, means lesser amount of pixels to work with. Lesser amount of pixels means lesser requirement of resources. Lesser requirement of resources means there is completely no use in cramping all those raw processing power if it's not going to be utilized. It will be simply a waste of resources and money as all that raw power comes with a price.

I would drop my iphone in a second if a small high end droid was in the market. Should also have same build as the iphone or htc one

Companies just focus in making technologically superior devices over the other. The only user experience they think about is during the launch day.

Would LOVE a smartphone the size of the Veer, but I know that's a dream never to come true. Instead, I'd settle for something like the Pre, or a revision of the Motorola Defy mini. Tough, and tiny.

It's true, you can get just about any kind of a phone, small and cheap, huge and powerful, huge and basic, mid sized and powerfull etc. The only part of the market almost completely empty (save for Meizu MX 4-core and one or two more) is compact and powerful. If Samsung/HTC/Sony can announce 100 phones every year I bet they can ship one or two additional models. As of now we can't even vote with our wallet.

I agree with this petition (though the RAZRi is perfect at 4.3").

However, I'd rather make a priority for a petition to demand manufacturers start producing landscape QWERTY slider devices again. I have tried the new touch devices, and as much as I try to like them I simply think the text input on my old Xperia Pro is superior: more accurate (without annoying "auto-correct" and faster typing).

Sony should make a phone like the Walkman F Series MP3 player , the Sony Micro Series.

If you want a phone with a medium screen (4.3") 720p, dual core krait and a small form factor, you can choose the Acer S500
It has a 8mpx main camera a hd camera in front compact form factor and it's slim
                            Right now has android 4.1.2
It's only disadvantage yould be it's battery but it can keep you trough a full day

                              Screen size check
                              Design check
                              BB10 OS oh hell no

iPhone 5 just needs to be a bit wider

Before you sign, take a closer look at Xiaomi M2, M2S, M2A, Meizu MX2 and a HUGE amount of other phones in same category.
Top hardware at any price you desire.

                                  I know, I'm using it!!!

Not sold in your country - bad excuse. Its not sold in my country either, so I simply imported one! Actually, I imported all 3 - Xiaomi 1S, M2, Meizu MX2, and all are AWESOME!!! Liked Meizu MX2 the most, its not only top hardware, but very good software.
