Absolutely Amazing phone. Great camera in my opinion. Having come from the Lumia 800 to Galaxy S3 then the BlackBerry Z10, I can honestly say that HTC is the best mobile phone experience I have had to date. Everything from the build quality to UI is beautiful. The battery life is phenomenal. I never have to take my 4G off and the brightness stays at auto which works really well. This is my first HTC phone and easily has become my favourite. Well done HTC.

jk, 25 Apr 2013Battery is MUCH BETTER on the HTC one than the s4, it's onl... moreplease get your facts right before making stupid comments, the galaxy s4 has a better rating overall, talk time, standby time, video playback, the only thing it loses on is web browsing where htc one is nearly 9.58hrs opposed to the GS4 8.5hrs, which is a small sacrifice for having a bigger screen. so it is in no way MUCH BETTER at all.

i work in a phone store and have had the s4 in stock for the past 48 hours and we have a live s4 model, and i have to say that screen is just astounding, when you actually hold the device and see it next to s3 you will instantly see the difference in everything, pictures and online stuff do not do it any justice really, it is the fastest pre order phone we have ever had, and many people have actually started pre ordering now they have seen and compared to the htc one or s3, which while it may look and feel a lot more premium it is a very different device, smaller screen, more power hungry, slightly smaller screen, slightly reduced power output, non removable battery, no micro sd, which is not to criticize the device because having played with it, the htc one is a very good handset but to the guy who claims its laggy and buggy ui and everything else wrong with the s4, you are totally wrong, both devices are as quick as hell and in real time anyone upgrading from even the s3 or an equivalent spec phone will still see an improvement or how snappy both devices are, there is 2 noticable differences between the htc and s4 i found, but this is common on samsungs, the boot up time is quicker on the htc, as is photo capture, but even on the s4 it is still around 1.5 second as opposed to the htc less then a second, but hardly worth complaining about, end of the day, both phones are premium and both have their good and bad points, while the s4 is not made of aluminium it is more durable in the fact that its made of polycarbonate less likly to scuff, scratch and so on, where as i can assure you i have had 7 htc ones in for repair so far due to damage to the shell, the black one especially looks terrible after somebody drops it and it skids along the pavement

The HTC One 4 MP Camera is very good indeed considering the smartphone standards and has a great support chip that makes it work blazing fast and allows almost magic effects. It seems to do the best low-light hand-held photos of all the smartphones on the market.
But the Ultrapixel nonesense is just a marketing mambo-jumbo that HTC coined (like Retina for Apple). It's a standard CMOS sensor of the same size as all the 8 and 13 MP sensors in other flagships (except Nokias N8 and 808 - which have huge sensors for mobile phones). Individual pixels on HTC1 are bigger because there are 2-3 times less of them packed on the same surface. And this does allow them to capture more light then its direct competitors. But they are still small comparing with any serious dedicated camera - and you don't see manufacturers of cameras call their pixels UltraMegaPixels.

"Mega" means million. "Ultra" is how many? That term is just for their marketing means. It's still a 4 megapixel camera but with very good low light performance.

I think you should read the comparison done my GSMarena clearly giving S4 win over HCT One.
less battery power, much better screen, better camera, better features, latest android, more powerfull processor, more sensors.
May be you have already done the wrong decision of wasting money in HTC one instead of purchasing S4.

Megapixels are something that doesnt matter at all, with more mpx you get only bigger image resolution, not better quality, this 4mpx camera is probably the best mobile camera right now.

There have been some people trolling around here with capacitve button issue..well all that is false..
About the phone -
- Awesome phone..fell in love with it in the first meeting..
- Superb sound quality ..both earphones and speaker
- Fabulous screen.. love this one!!
- excellent design.. it cannot get better than this..
- camera is superb ..beautiful images in dark..best i have seen till date with any smartphone..love this one!! daylight images are also good enough and will improve after the update just released.
- Battery - decent battery ..gave me around 1.5 day back up with normal usage.. 3 hours music, 1 hour calling , internet on wifi..
- Highly recommended ..wait for this one...HTC ONE is surely something you will enjoy in your daily life..
On Samsung S4:
- Screen is very good.. both mobiles have good screen.
- ugly design..didnt want to feel that i bought cheap plastic after spending so much..
- software glitches ..touchwiz lags even on octa core(with 4 cores working at a time).
- music quality is very good but not better than htc one.
- video recording is poor
- image quality good in daylight but night images have a lots of noise and less light.
- Battery back up similar to htc one..
- UI is very bad...feels like using samsung grand or S3..no premium feel.
Verdict :
Guys if you want to enjoy your smartphone go for htc one..don't get lured by benchmarks..this tiny difference doesnt mean anything..and what difference does that benchmark make if even touchwiz lags on S4..??.
Blindly go for HTC ONE!! BEST MOBILE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!

They put awesome hardware + sense. then they forget about putting effort in the real deal. They learn from their mistakes & update their devices but till then its too late...
