    1. Please don't stop producing the "stupid" phones with traditional keypads that are priced at less than $50.Some people just want phones for calling/texting. Also, please make Windows phones that are in the same price range as the symbians.

it's all bcz android that even just not to be bought but its a free platform, yeah the THING that its FREE is felt just like eat a nut, even a pack of nuts can be eaten in just only a while.
and for iOS, keep on going, bcz u have a big name that everyone (developer) respect you for the license of a ROYALTY benefits. The musician, artists, producers, love you, love your AGREEMENT. Of course to make some money :) ( i mean lots of money ).
very sad to say goodbye to Symbian, but there are many chance if you can find it way to come back again.
        thanks.

isn't elope a mole from microsoft? the mf is taking smartphone some step backword, yes including all the OSes (android, iOs,bb,winphone, etc) are lyk restarting the smartphone again by takin away usable features & bringing em back again & claim credit for the features i.e syncing, bluetooth ftp, expansion slot, explorer, etc. Jobs says this is post-pc era but we still "connect to itunes" or Zune for one problem or the other, during winmo & symbian we less of dat.

I dint understand this statement "it takes 22 months to bring a Symbian product to the market"

What does it mean? Does it mean coming out with new model of the OS or new firmware or version or R&D or making a mobile phone

AnonD-1097, 14 Jun 2013Its really sad tat nokia is dng this...they should have con... moreNo doubt Nokia is amazing and should quick Symbian.. It's a big loss. They should also make an Android flagship...but to say Android is a full copy or copy of Symbian is just as ridiculous as all the isheep claiming it's an IOS rip off.

The only thing we can do after symbian is to use jolla meego sailfish os,made by People who worked for Nokia, but lost their jobs because of Windows os.
meego sailfish is better than android and window os, i preorded mine, who is next.

foolish decision by elop / nokia to leave symbian they should have come with low end devices instead of s40 ,,,nokia know very well if they keep producing symbian kno one will buy win phones,,,now if anyother company comes up with symbian then nokia will close it shop for good,

I still remember my first phone. It was Nokia 2310 which i bought in 2007 i think. I have this phone still and till date there's nothing wrong with it. No issues. The phone dropped 40-50 times from heights and atleast have fallen in water 10 times, still no issues. My second phone Nokia N73, fell 10-15 times, no issues yet. Personally speaking Nokia makes brilliant phones. If they could have focused a little bit more on Symbian and MeeGo then they would have been two top ecosystems today but unfortunately Stephen Elop, an ex MS business head was signed as the CEO of Nokia who abandoned MeeGo just to serve his ex company so that he can get paid for lifetime. All Nokia needed was a good CEO. I blame Stephen Elop. He is responsible for the demise of MeeGo and now Symbian.. Hopefully, Jolla restarted the MeeGo project, now named, Sailfish OS. So, you know what goes around comes around. Thanks my Nokia 2310, N73, E7, and N9.. Thanks a lot.. I don't want to say it but.. Goodbye Symbian.

If Nokia had put some effort and had good apps for Symbian OS they could have maintained good lead in market as they already had good share and loyal cust across the world and the likes of Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC would have faced much stiffer competition. Finland has lost it Hero as the heor is been infected with trojan virus deeply.

Its really sad tat nokia is dng this...they should have continued Symbian is lower models instead of stupid s40 wic they using in asha series...Its funny the 1st best smartfone OS SYMBIAN is still the best till date in days of ios, android, windows and all and I started with Symbian frm 7650 days till now iam using Nokia 808 as my main fone then note 2 and using bb 9900 for bbm wic I will chuck wen bbm is launched in android...I knew one day 808 will go out of stock..so I got another 808..808 is true collectors item..Love Symbian for ever...imagine wat nokia gave us many years ago...iphone and android r giving us now...If u see android is a full copy of Symbian just with lot of app support...all Symbian needed was developer support with quality apps and more publicity by Nokia...still ppl r amazed how good nokia 808 is...iam gonna use it for longtime for sure..The only lumia iam interested in is Nokia EOS wic will have 808 camera in it with latest quality apps...I hope nokia can change windows to match Symbian time usability...Symbian will always live coz we will keep using them...thinking of buying one more 808 wat say ppl...3 808 in the kitty...

THE NOKIA CHIEF IS: S ELOP, he was Ex chief of MICROSOFT. Poor Nokia , well they are actually stupid because they are the one who hired him, so cant blame other. If Nokia had stuck with Symbian and shown some guts in innovation on the smart Symbian they would have been better and instead they got panic and took MS ex chief and obviously he showed loyalty to his company and ditched Symbian. Stupid Nokia, they had such a large market and fans across world. Nokia preferred to pay royalty to MICROSOFT instead going with opensource Android.

Interesting part is the Nokia chief who is responsible for bringing Windows Phone OS to NOKIA handsets and stopping Symbian growth was EX MICROSOFT chief..... hahaha yes it's true.
Well just do some google on this and you will be surprised and however shouldn't be surprised by NOKIA decision to move ahead with MICROSOFT,,, what you will expect from MS ex chief, loyalty to his ex company which should be paying him even now and rest of his life for his immense contribution for smart MS and poor Nokia.
MS is controlling Nokia just like they did to IBM. Nokia is just sold to MS.
The pirates of silicon valley are still good and have become better in their strategies at what they have been doing since Apple stole GUI from XEROX and then MICROSOFT stealing complete OS design from Apple and marketing it as WINDOWS.... and then taking royalty from IBM... this part 2... this will never end... :)
