Surely you've seen how terrible these photos look on a 360mm crop mode on GSMArena's review right?

You honestly need to stop spewing nonsense if you have no idea in what contexts these photos were taken. Your favourite brand would fare FAR worse in the same situation.

There is another codex that matches LDACs data throughput and capability that a few vendors are using and do NOt have to pay Sony-s licensing to use LDAC.

I've yet to use and experience it first hand but using "Best" without even mentioning it's competitors seems a bit lazy?

            Just a thought.
The codex escapes my memory at the moment.

To7gj decision but the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will not ship in volume until late August to manufacturers and will not ship to consumers until September and right now only 2 Chinese OEMs will ship that soon as they've paid an exorbitant amount of money for the first production run.

The USA embargo has not yet affected Qualcomm so it's happening. If it DID then Sony would have waited and announced today with shipping then.

The other variable is what stack the 8 Gen 4 comes with and how much heat the full Nuvia GPU when implemented would generate??! Remember it's mobile desktop class performance so we're unsure and it's going to take co aiderably more R&D for that.

Maybe the 1 Pro II will havw it or some other device. Maybe the thickness was prohibitive for proper cooling that affected Sony's choice?

I too wishes Sony could've writes for this SoC but man overall Thai is one incredible phone. When it's in the hand and you're using it it would not really matter.

There is a reason Samsung promised 7yrs of OS updates - of course every new feature after 2yrs may not happen BUT considering Google's I/O 2024 opening day - doesn't seem like Google is fresh with heavy ideas and THAT should be even MORE worrisome for us all!

I'm not young, I wear glasses and I still can appreciate it but the current phone I'm using has the same resolution as the new vI. I don't mind it at all, I k kept it that way in the LG to conserve the battery, but I did expect the price to be reduced due to that. Sony phones are preferable to just about everything we can get in the U.S. but their prices are too high. Of cider, so are the prices on the high end Apples and Samsungs. These things are really more of a rich person's toy at this point. If you could replace the battery, you could use the phone for a lot longer, using it for other things than just as a phone. With the Sony phones you pay for features that used to be common on cheap phones.Yes, the led notification is useful. You can tell when it's charged, when you have a message, missed calls. I would like to buy the vi but you can find a very good camera, a real camera with changeable lenses that takes far better photos than any phone, for far less.

Does anyone here know if this will be available in the U.S.? It seems like it won't be, though. Is anyone here knowledgeable about the "improved audio circuitry" other the snapdragon chip for lossless hi res bluetooth? It has everything I want in a phone, other than a user replaceable battery and a reasonable price. I have a 5III. The sound is better on my LG that no longer works as a phone, but I haven't had problems with it and it does have expandable memory and a headphone jack, features I use far more than AI photography. The battery could last a bit longer and the photo app is a bit convoluted but useable if you've used real cameras. I prefer a wider screen. I guess that I'm in the minority.

If you mean Risc V it's an architecture NOT a platform decision. ARM by it's primary design is fully licensed based and many in the smartphone industry using custom designs eith an annual licensing fee NOT a per chip fee which is very cost ineffective.

Regarding MicroSD card performance. Copy your data/backup off the card and reformat it to exfat NOT FAT (which is 32bit only, and not NTFS which is Windows file format)!

                            Then retry using it.
Clear cache off any apps that u use with the card and force dtop them immediately after clearing EACH apps' cache.
