I'm so happy to leave Germany i.e. Europe, in the up coming months, if only for the fact that smartphones and such are so expensive. Whatever a computer cost in dollars, here they charge in euros. At todays rate 800euros = $1,040.00 US.

Oh yea, and it's freaking expensive for a phone with no outstanding features other than the camera and camera software.

The processor and chipset is almost 2 years old! Someone must have been looking for a way to clear out the inventory warehouse.

AnonD-4354, 16 Jul 2013Hhhhmmmm....if the memory was empty with 25GB of free space... moreI don't know about you and your friends, but most of my friends take their memory cards out of their camera before they fill it up.

I personally won't buy a phone without a removable battery or memory card slot. Sometimes I want to give copies to my family or friends when we're out or on vacation, so it's easy with a memory card. You don't need a PC or deal with connecting to the cloud and bandwidth/access/sharing issues. It's just easy and it always works. Copy, remove card, done.

Same with a removable battery. Sometimes I'm out hiking or camping and I always carry an extra phone battery with me. Also, I don't always remember to charge my phone, and when I have an important call I need to make that may last more than an hour, being able to swap out the battery is easy.

So this phone and other phones that I'd like to try (the HTC One is another example) which don't have these two features are no sale to me.

Not to mention that I don't like the Apple model of locking down the filesystem (which MS didn't do until WP8 came out) and given that more and more I do things on my phone that I once did on my notebook, that makes 3 strikes against this phone.

As far as the battery, well they have the extra grip with a battery which you can add on to it just like any other camera, so saying that the battery is an issue is BS. My DSLR would run out of battery before my Nokia would. I wouldn't be using my Nokia for a photo shoot by itself, I usually bring 3 cameras with me. If I need to take a studio quality picture on the fly, then I have my Nokia ready to go in my pocket whenever I need it. Its funny that you talk a "REAL" camera when they compared the 808 to one of the new canon DSLR's at the time it came out and the Nokia was right on par with that $3000-$4000 camera. Do you use a 32gb card in your camera? How often do you take the pictures off of it after you fill it up? The camera is the number one buying point when I look for a phone because it is the what I use the most on it, that and I stream movies through mine because I'm on ATT's UNLIMITED NON-SMARTPHONE data plan. I use 20-30 gb a month without being throttled down.

AnonD-122899, 16 Jul 2013Is your launcher problem. Flash to a stock Android JB and see.You just admitted that Android indeed has a lot of lags. Why does everyone have to flash to stock Android to make their phone lag less? Where is the freedom and customizability of Android? What advantage does Android have without those? You guys complain about Wp being the same on every device, yet you suggest that everyone flash stock Android to their device to enjoy the Android experience, where is the difference? Instead of that just tell the oems to leave stock Android on their devices and stop complaining that Wp doesn't change from device to device!

Why? Because it allows you to take photos to your heart contents, without worrying battery going flat or running out of diskspace. Because all these can be REPLACED on a REAL camera. But if you are to carry the 1020 for the whole day for photo shoots, I bet you will soon encounter issues with battery running low or out of disk space due to the tiny 25GB++.

And how difficult is it to carry a compact camera?? Compact cameras are so light nowadays!

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2013and about $750 more than any android phone is worth. ...... moreThat's pretty heavy coming from an obvious supporter of a system that cannot run fluently on any hardware. WP in practice is incredibly slow compared to even three year old mid-range Androids - it's just hidden behind animations that take forever.

Also, since ICS, Android runs perfectly smoothly on a 800MHz single core.

Good luck on your astroturfing career, but I have a feeling Microsoft-Nokia won't be willing to keep paying you that much longer.
