Just take a look again at this picture http://press.nokia.com/wp-content/uploads/mediaplugin/photo/nokia-lumia-1020-pro-highres-3.jpg
from Nokia own, and admire the noise and colour saturation at the mouth creases. Looks like a 8 bit colour picture!

AnonD-156746, 15 Jul 2013you have no idea what oversampling mean, now do you?Oversampling has nothing to do with recording the data. What you get recorded, that's what you see. Just watch the videos yourself! If you look carefully you see compression artefacts everywhere.

produced by the Lumia 1020 are beyond
the capabilities of any other smartphone on
the market. The detail levels are top notch,
the colors are extremely pleasing and the
dynamic range simply cannot be achieved

X, 15 Jul 2013Don't be naive! I think that the top camcorders on the mark... moreOversampling in 1020 gives crystal clear images and videos, with much less noise than the competition. And less noise means that pictures and videos look better and occupy less memory. Why? Because noise is very hard to compress, a noisy picture or video will take up much more megabytes.

I think that the top camcorders on the market record HD videos at 17MB for second. If you want to record 4K at the same pixel quality you'll have to multiply that with 4. But even at 17 MB/s, you get to use 17x60 MB, 1.02 GB of data per minute. So for sure the 1020 does not record video at high quality, otherwise it would fill those 32GB in half an hour of video.

despite hue and cry from nokia its camera is no better than mid range compact digital camera. sony rx100 !! is the best high end compact camera and costs $750. i will not buy this even if this is around $550.

Compare the noise and grain. Look at the sky and how noise-free it is in 808.

                                  808 > 1020.

Even professional cameras have problems filming smoke and fog, if you record that smoke with Galaxy S4 of iphone 5 it will look ten times worse. Lumia 1020 records video in 8k resolution (7728 x 4354) then resizes (oversampling) the video to 1080p, resulting a nearly crystal clear 1080p video.

It lags like CRAZY. Opening an app, closing an app. Don't try to have more than one app open at a time, you'll be waiting for minutes trying to get it to do anything.

The Sola is a dual core phone with 512mb's of RAM. Not the best specs in the world but nothing to sneeze at either. So you say Android doesn't lag but that just doesn't reflect my actual real world experience. Lag is almost entirely based on the specs of your phone. Tried out my friends Galaxy SIII and barely noticed any lag at all.
