Agreed that Nokia should never have killed Symbian. Years of development to make the OS as advanced and mature as it is now are all put to waste. It should've been relegated to the midrange in place of the S40. But it would be such a shame if the midrange Nokia phones are more powerful than the highend Lumias. So I think it's all politics. Elop killed Symbian so that Windows Phone will have a chance to flourish.

i m using nokia c6 and whn i check for software update it shows 'all application are up-to-date' is ths means my c6 wont get new map update. . . ?

Just FYI, for OTA updates, some maps will be "too big" to update with WiFi. It's best to just update via USB connection.

plz bring back symbian
may b it can again save nokia to win the competition with lightning fas os may b with 1 gb ram and 4gb rom. No lumina or android can beat it in speed atleast u need qhd resolution screen too.

trust me. the new nokia map update will make make access to maps difficult, heavy, lagging, etc... so, u go and buy new lumias. the same thing was done before. i know the game now.

the continuation of symbian and adoption of meego would have made miracles for nokia. Would have kept nokia's authenticity . . . There is nothing fundamentally wrong with symbian nor its apps ecosystem . . as others pointed symbian should have replaced the s40 at least. . I.m pretty sure that if there was a news on gsmArena about symbian's resurrection it would gather +1000 comments . . Symbian rocks :)

At least Mr Elop did say Sambian Phones will continue receiving support and updates up to 2016 yet i wonder why some people bashing afterall the NEW PHONES not all will get an update on Android gosh

HI NOKIA!! pls update map for nokia 5800. I'm using it for more than 4 years.i'hd used android 2.3 bt can't see anythn great in it.my symbian do much more multitasking with only 128 mb ram. The UI of 5800 is superb when i installed SPB shell.i bet that it would surpass any andorid phone...awesome UI.... Nokia keyboard is great... The best of nokia is its offline map.i catch satellite signal within 20sec..n the voice drive guidance is best than google giving...pls nokia update ur symbian os don't kill it..also update map 4 nokia 5800. Thanks

I have 808PV and Lumia 920. Granted, surfing on 920 is whole new expirience. And that's it. Multitasking is joke, all apps i need, i have on symbian, camera is laughter comapring it with 808, anyhow, between those two, 920 is my second phone..

Symbian belle is so good. I do use sometimes my girlfriends SGS3 mini, and I really don't like the android. It's way overrated.

Nokia Belle FP2 on my 701 is the perfect OS for me, sold my iphone! Free lifetime Nokia Maps and Drive with frequent updates are much better than Mercedes Navigation.
