Oncom, 14 Aug 2013In other words, you admit that the WP is immature. So why d... moreExactly right. Only additional note is Nokia could give users a choice and migrate their Asha 1.0 platform to the Lumia line.

However, I think CEO Elop is positioning Nokia's handset division for a sale to MS, so he won't allow that to happen. If the Lumia's are locked into WP8 it will be a better looking acquisition for Microsoft.

Pay attention to this potential WP8 buyers.

This is exactly what Microsoft did with the Windows Mobile platform versions before WP8. Some models would get the updates, and others would not.

Now let's see if they've improved the quality of the major updates or if that's just as bad as it has been in the past.

z, 13 Aug 2013Windows Phone is successor of Windows Mobile. It is not NEW... moreWrong... Windows Phone is based in a new system, there is nothing related to Windows Mobile and Windows Phone, as WM is based on Windows CE, unlike WP.
Officially, WP started in 2010, not before.

Bring me one - yes, only one - thing the products have in common except the name and the company that made them.

I have lumia 920 AT&T unlocked. have been using windows phone since inception...first on samsung omnia W and then samsung focus AT&T. had to upgrade to lumia as my company stopped supporting WP 7.X. but had been on iphone 4S as well...and believe it these two fruites are quite similar in pattern...but why don't ms accept that copying is not going to save them...every round the corner they are copying...and poor other fruite co. tired of bringing new innovations in the market...because there had been time when windows mobile ruled the niche market share...they became bowled over by the all new ios...then they realise Oh! we cant fool that we do have something new...lets pretend that we have something....tada...windows phone...7.8 after that it became orphan...iphone is still support its ancestors even with ios7. and now another gimmick to hold the consumer..wp8..time is near when ms will say wp9 will not wok on current hardware and we all wp8 phone owners will curse the day...better to keep less dependency now and switch...before its too late to be ditched again
