13 August, 2013
The update will reportedly target the Lumia 920 first, so it might be a staggered rollout.

You people keep yapping on about how great Android is... Just remember that Android is very much maturing meaning there are very few possible features that can still revolutionize the OS. WP on the other hand, has barely begun. They can learn from Android and iOS and go on to produce perhaps the best mobile OS within the next 5 years. By that time y'all gonna be very bored of your Android which would likely not have changed much.

Loving amber. Cant wait. Will be good to block sales calls at last. . Nokia and windows is great os . Cant see what peoples problems are to be honest. But who cares. Anyone who i get to try it thinks its much more fluent than android.

entry level androids don't get updates at all....so nokia lumia 520/620 getting amber update sans one feature (radio / nokia glance) is really awesome and it seems that there's no competition to nokia in the low end

You people... Android, and iOS release their update and system freshly installed has some bugs or lags, Windows has been more than a year I think and still working fine, no major problems. But you guys wanted to change it and then I imagine you all be talking that they could take more time to fix somethings.Bah, when they released download it and thats it.

I hate how this article says no radio for 620 cause it lacks the hardware, but doesn't say anything about 520 not getting the glance screen clock.

No wonder, even WP7.80 does not reach all WP phones. Maybe its time for Bill Gates to rise from his grave and fire that fat Balmer.

This is disappointing. I thought one of the advantages of the tight hardware specifications on WP devices was to reduce fragmentation and allowing to release upgrades more quickly.
On the other hand, Nokia Amber is probably tapping deep into the hardware driver level, so it's understandable that Nokia will need to redo quite some work on each device.
It would be nice to have this out sooner than later, though.
At least, there won't be further delays introduced by carriers/operators.

Great, an update that brings mostly nothing delayed from June to July to early August to late August/early September. At this pace Windows phone 8 Blue, which we can only hope brings the most cried out for features will launch in 2015.
