If you men it has smooth animations then yes it's smooth, bit it's still slow as F. The high animation and foreground presentation cpu priority makes it look "smooth" and feel so so slow, and then I'm talking about Lumia 920, not 520. Omg how much i suffered waiting for WP to finish all the animations, so slow, even low midrange Androids feel faster, despite it's occasionally dropped frame that WP fans has dubbed "lag". Android simply does not enforce fullfillment of slow animations, it's open for input while rendering, it doesn't go dead to enforce animations like WP does.
Maemo5 is like Android on this, you have to admit it's better for an OS to stay fully aware of its operations and input interfaces?

It's just that the phone itself is so outdated now, and was getting outdated already in second half of 2010. Maemo5 should have been maintained today, running on modern quad core and 2GB RAM, unbeatable.

I mentioned three different nokia devices... n900, n9 and lumia 520
nokia HAS NEVER I repeat NEVER released a spec king device....
I am a nokia fan since waaaay back.... n95, n96, n900, n9, lumia 920, and I will own the soon to be released 1520
I have owned several android devices too... gs3 and htc1x+
people get shocked when I tell them that i prefer my n900 over my "flagship" droids
in summary.... learn to read, android without 1gb of ram, multi core and 4.2 jelly bean is crap
you dont have to believe me... just run a similar specked android next to the lumia 520....
heck... run the gs4 alongside the lumia 520

The fact that i still run android 4.2 on my 4 year old nexus one says enough. Its not buttersmooth, but it still runs decently on such an old device with a single core and 512mb of ram.
But you dont know much of hardware since some dualcores can be faster then quadcores, more cores doesnt need necessarily more speed.
pe: AMD 8cores vs Intel 4cores , intel is still faster.
Your philosophy about Nokia is bullshit, Nokia didnt make extreme highend phones because Windows phone doesnt support it YET. The upcoming GDR3 update will bring qualcomm800 and 1080p displays, but nokia will skip that since they dont want to use highend hardware, right? WRONG

to all those who wanted an android powered nokia.... a little history lesson
before nokia created the lumia line, they petitioned ONE thing and ONE thing only from microsoft... TO MAKE WINDOWS PHONE OPERATE SMOOTHLY ON LOW SPECKED DEVICES... that is what the mango update was for
even more history.... nokia has NEVER released a top specked device, even when people were begging for it, why? that is their philosophy.
to do more with less... compare the specs of the n9 to the gs3 and you would think that the gs3 is better... better yet compare the specs of n900 with the gs2!!!
in summary.... android is a resource hog and NEEDS QUAD CORE, 1GB OF RAM AND 4.2 JELLY BEAN TO NOT LAG
tip of the hat to lumia 520.... seriously... compare the specs of the l520 and the gs4.... now THAT IS EMBARRASSING

why is Android trying to fragment even further by bring uselesss incremental updates. noone is forcing android to bring updates quickly so they could increase version numbers and keep the manufacturers busy paying developers to update their phones. this looks ugly and boring just like 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and so on

You don't need to set up a Google account to use the phone.
And apps can be installed outside of the Play store. Most developers release the .apk's online.
Downside is that you'll have to manually update all apps, and you're not on Google backup w/contacts, etc.
