I'm not even supposed to be having this with you, because you obviously don't know what's going on and you are closing your eyes to the fact that Microsoft will discontinue support for hardware made my OEM and bought by people without even providing any comforting explanation or consideration for the money spent and the timing.

Tell a 925 or 1020 proud owner in simple English that there is an update called GDR3 that gives a 3rd grid or column to give 6 tiles in a row BUT he/she can't get it because their phones are not good enough! ( And they know they just bought the best wp phones in the world)

all devices are getting GDR3,3 tiles is not a feature, just because an android update for 2.3 added nfc capability to phones which only had nfc chips does mean it and later versions was not released on non nfc phones later....

No phone existing can get the full GDR3 except the unannounced 1520, and Microsoft said clearly that full GDR3 comes to only 1080P.

AnonD-167217, 20 Oct 2013LOL..now i'm pretty sure you're a pathetic troll....wp7.8 d... moreI think the only troll here is you, most people commenting here are doing it based on phones they have and are using, i have Nokia phones and Samsung phones, Android and Windows Phone. Whatever is being said is from what i know and what I'm experiencing.

I have a note 8 which is getting 4.2.2 update shortly ( delay based on my region) At the same time, the 8.1 Windows RT update for the Ativ tab won't come and might never come. Even with a pen is a pain to use because the OS is simply terrible. So these gadgets are both Samsung, both pen enabled but the only practical one is the Note 8 because it runs the Android. My lenovo tab 2 is absolutely useless even with the pen and the "full" Windows 8 it runs.

So in my search for portability, practicality and true mobility, Microsoft is a waste of money,Android is wise investment. You see is not and has never been about Nokia!

I'm not saying every 8.1 device Must be 1080P, Microsoft did, and trust me, it's a hardware requirement and standard. It's either it meets it or it doesn't work. It's simple.

So your low end devices might either be expensive Or non existent.

I still have an N9 i never really used, just had the Android ICS installed - though it's not functional but it's the best sight you can have on a small phone off its size.

My view is this; symbol of the old wp is the big tiles without the smaller ones. And now shortly the symbol of the old wp will be 2 columns instead of 3. So the only 8.1 phone is the Microsoft made 1520.

no major problem of wp7.8 was fixed.

truth right now is that android 2.3 is more functional than wp 8 gdr3.

atleast it can play video with subtiles, can extract and manage compressed file. need not to mention i can share videos on whatsapp which is more stable on android as compared to wp 8.

AnonD-167217, 20 Oct 2013All wp8 devices.......Will appreciate if you have any publication you can point us to, to prove it. My observation and skepticism comes from back in June when it was announced that all WP8 will get the FULL GDR3 on GSMARENA, but now that's false cos as we can see, no existing WP8 phone gets the FULL update. Now the 8.1 is slated for next year Jan/Feb. What happens to those that can't even get the full GDR3, let alone the full 8.1??

                                        That's just my observation.

Another thing is this; some countries get Nokia devices months after launched in the USA or India, my country PTOs are still offering pre-order for the 1020, so you can imagine if someone gets it like next month and at the same time the 1520 is launched and you see a world of difference, it automatically translates to DOA.
