I believe this would be what most people would like... maybe not in this method but close enough. But I would rather have this design.

This is the typical product that a year after launch will be found only in people's drawers, an expensive boring toy that you will not want to spend money on for upgrades.

maybe this thing will work better with windows platform... the reason being that we already slap together different components in a desktop windows computer and simply install the drivers and stop worrying about the optimizations or whatever..

I don't think that bu... morei think the technology has already peaked, we are now at saturation point,candy bar style phones had their day, touch screen phones have had their day and now its time to think about something else (from a design point of view) i like the idea of modules but the problem would be getting developers on board, i also still think you can make a very decent design finish modular phone with nice materials and build structure, i would like to have choice in the modules i bought i.e camera, storage, processor etc. from multiple developers rather then 1 set of blocks for all.

i wonder if it would give the option for UI too because although i love the idea of taking parts out and replacing them, the motorola UI has never been unique

A phone being modular means components in the phone can be customized and swapped meaning it may be individually customized and less likely the entire phone will be throwaway.
Also, where do you get your source that motorola make a new model high end phone every week? What I know is they only release about 5 new models this year.
Who throws away high end Android phones? You?
