If looking at phones only then LG has a considerable operating loss while Sony Mobile is making a small profit.

AnonD-77171, 18 Jan 2014only in your dream! lolMaybe he is not dreaming, he said LG ELECTRONICS, and LG Electronics does not include household appliances, theres no washing machines, refrigerators or air conditioners in the electronics division, and we know that LG Electronics took considerable losses from their cellphone division last year, that would eat up a lot of the already small profits from audio and video/TV related products.

Too big imo, but once again this is the same problem LG had since the G Pro with LCD manufacturing: The yields are not good enough at very high pixel densities, thats why G Pro came out at FHD 5.5 inches instead of 5, and when G2 came they had improved their manufacturing processes so they could make it slightly higher PPI, but still had to settle for 5.2 instead of 5. NOw with the higher QHD resolution they have improved again but has to settle for 5.5 instead of 5.2 to improve manufacturing yields. This way LG will never be able to compete with contemporary competing flagships on equal terms, LG always has to be one size too large to suit the mainstream flagship buyers.
Anyway LG is better off than Sony who cant even manufacture 400 PPI IPS panels, thats why Z1 doesnt have IPS, the Z1 Compact has a quite lowish PPI at 341 to make IPS possible. Lets hope Sony will buy the Z2 display from Sharp, those guys really know how to make high PPI displays without sacrificing contrast and viewing angles, Sharp manufactured the HTC One display, the highest PPI of the 2013 flagships.

The G2 is a damn fine handset for the price, i liked the looks as well, can't wait for the G3 upgrade, The next line of Top of range smartphones are truly exciting,
one of these babies will be my next upgrade !!

Another phone with bigger screen,more powerful processor.couple of more pixels..bla,bla,bla..the smart phone market is crowded with phones that offer processing power, which is already the most average users is completely unused.Market wanted something new in the phone,something what will shake already tiresome smartphone market.
