Great to see the OS coming out of beta. Hopefully this 1.0 update will reduce the many bugs and thus becoming a stable and usuable OS.
IMO this new move by Jolla isn't smart. First you establish yourself in your "home" market and then in the surrounding market(EU). The App store is so underwhelming and miniscule compared to others. Yes I know you can sideload Android apps but it's very buggy and very few apps run flawlessly in my experience. They look awful as the apps are not optimized for Sailfish OS UI. The phone's hardware is meh and the pricetag is quite high. Therefore it won't sell well in these new markets but then again the Jolla phone is out of stock most of the time here in the EU anyway.

I have it since December and the OS really improved so be careful with old reviews. It already is my daily phone so it means even not perfect yet it provides enough apps to use...

Too expensive*. Maybe they have a reason for that but still...

                * not comparing to my budget but to other smartphones

... ant that interface doesn't make things better either.

Waiting to sideload this on a android device. Maybe s3 or note2. Yum. Come on Jolla waiting for that.

If launched in India, I am in for Jolla.. Phone arena's review seems crap to me..I am in touch with most of the actual users who are using it since months. I also know about the development and pace of their work. Being a start up company it was necessary to get their OS polished before going global, and I think they are going step by step
If anyone remembers, when apple had launched their first iphone, they even didn't have their own store then ;) Atleast Jolla sounds a better start.
Guys, just give it chance to prove themselves and you never know we can have a best ecosystem around in next few years.. Cheers!!

Now that Nokia has some billions lying around somewhere after selling their mobile unit to MSFT, why don't they get down to it with Jolla (assuming there exists no bad blood between them) and start making some devices?

Nokia Oyj still holds their intellectual portfolio which means they could still license their tech to Jolla and they can't manufacture under their own brand, at least not till 2015. Plus Jolla is more or less carrying on the Meego work, which Nokia had spent a considerable amount of time developing.

I wonder what a modern day Meego phone would be like if Elop hadn't pulled the plug on it. Perhaps Lumia 930 spec'd phone with a "The Other Half" option and all the 'oohs' and 'aahs' that comes with a gesture-based OS maybe? Only the Finns will tell.

The phone is new to the market. It will take like 2 years or more in order to attract more buyers. The Sailfish OS is very buggy and laggy, referring to this phone's review in YouTube.

€399 comes out to be INR 34K. Too costly for a new phone. Won't sell much in India.

I can recommend this phone to people above 55 though, they cant see the pixels unless they are nearsighted. Also others with poor vision will be happy.

The annoying part is that it wouldnt have cost anything for Jolla to go for a 720p display. The low ppi really does wonders to make webbrowsing unpleasant.

                              They are priced too high.

For a newcomer with a new OS, it's important to get the price right.
People should be able to test it, without having to invest too much in it. Placing spec-wise in the lower mid-range, but without a price that simply calls out good deal or try me, you are not going to get a lot onboard.
