Secondly, a clear picture is not what anyone wants. It is the resolution that matters when you see in a PC or Mac. A 8MP camera pic compared to this will be like the resolution of a DOS Game.

The ... moreIt depends upon how large you want the print to be, but looking at it on a phone or tablet, yes, 8mp is enough.

I think Oppo will just copy the entire Pureview technology. It's useless unless and until it has a bigger sensor compared to typical mobile sensors. Bigger than 1/1.2" may
work. Not everyone will be taking pictures at this huge resolution and wasting storage.

Seems like you have to go to school again.
Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, etc are all Asian.
It is true that their stock software is VERY flawed to say the least, but software is easy to fix. A custom rom is all you need. The perfect example being MIUI (Chinese developer btw) that beats even what Apple has to offer.

physical sensor matter
in ideal conditions (sunny & tripod) the megapixels do their job in detail, but in lowlight is as good as a 8MP if the sensorzise is like 8MP 1/3.2 ...

Feels like the companies just want a better figure than other companies in there spec sheet.
Are the mobile resolutions playing with the professional cameras? Building a 50MP camera in which the different modes can be used in just 8MP resolution like nokia's 41MP. Than companies should start making a useless 50MP fixed focus than.
SAMSUNG's 16MP .. that is effective what we can say. That is a real camera under 8.1mm. In which at evry resolution most of all the modes and settings can be applied . That is a true 16MP resolution benefit.

The Canon Rebel from 2003 is a perfect example of this, an 8MP work horse that still does good in low light, but is hardpressed to compete with the camera's of today.
The Nikon D7000 at 16.2 was in the perfect range for MP since it wasn't overdone but not underdone either.

Samsung - Korean
Sony - Japanese
HTC - Taiwanese
LG - Korean
Meizu - Chinese
And yes most chinese manufacturers have buggy software with fatal flaws, Meizu and Oppo are ones of the few from China who can actually make decent phones.

Don't forget Huawei, dude. Prejudices might be your enemy. Even though they generally make budget phones, their models from the high class are of incredible quality. I own a Huawei Ascend P1 and believe me even experienced Android users which were used to big dogs like Samsung, HTC, Sony etc. are literally blown away by how good it is. I'm a cell phone seller myself, I encounter various phones on a daily basis so this is experience talking.
