Latter got 16 M cam while phone has 8 M. Does it also mean that my phone has got better lens than my camera???

          Anonymous, 03 Mar 201450 MP, can't wait. This will blow DSLR and nokia pureview ... moreNokia uses Carl Zeiss optics in the 808 and Lumia 1020. This means that their cameras are much better than anything on the market, even cameras that would have a higher resolution. Anyway, it's about time somebody caught up with Nokia in terms of camera resolution.

            Smartphone manufactures are not fools that they make any product without analyzing.

            If u ppl can think to an extent. The manufactures can think beyond you.

            Waiting for Oppo 7.

                Looking at the fullsized image, i would say it shows visible signs of upscaling of atleast 2-3x the original resolution. eg. jagged edges in diagonal lines in high contrast areas.

                but never the less, it seems to show a good amount of resolved detail. I guess we will have to wait for the announcement and review to really know.

                    A bigger sensor (1/2.3-1/1.7) with around 12MP is all you need. :)
                    why not compete with decent compact cameras in sensor size???

                    They keep increasing Megapixels on tiny 1/3 sensor in mobile cams. And if they increase the sensor size a bit, they go crazy on increasing megapixels as well, which result in crazy file size and just marginal increase in low light photography.

                    Best compact cams from Nikon/Cannon like P330/S120 pack 1/1.7 size sensor with just 12MP. And no phone dares come close to them.

                      Yeah, MP's are not all. What counts is the optics and the sensor size. The biggest sensor in a phone ever is the one in the 808 PureView - 1/1.2"!! I don't think that Oppo will have such a giant sensor, so every of these pixels will be soo tiny that the image quality will decrease (incl. more noise).

                          This is what I have to say;

                          You can have a 5000megapixel camera on your phone but if the lens quality and placement is poor you will never get a decent photograph.

                          The fact is that my old SE K550 with its 2mpx could snap clearer pictures than some 5mpx and even 8mpx camera phones of today speaks a lot.

                          Carl Zeiss made a name for himself, and true to the name the lens used on phones are good, sadly though your phone will never ever or if so in 50 years match the quality of a good DSLR because of the physics that all things on this planet obey to.

                          May it be clear, a DSLR makes PHOTOS phones make PICTURES, and the two vary in quality by a huge degree.

                          If you are so obsessed with photography, buy a DSLR, even a 150eur DSLR makes better images than your shiny 800 Eur brick that you use for facebook only anyway (Samsung fans I'm looking at you in particular ).

                          50mpix is a clear marketing, and as long the stupid masses crave to be deceived, oppo and any other manufacturer has a right to cash in on their stupidity.

                                        well, increasing megapixel it won`t affect on picture texture unless u have good lens, fact that Carl Zeiss`s and Samsung`s lens are best for now and we see example in Nokia Lumia series, Nokia`s 8mp camera can easy beat Note 3 or even G2 (OIS)`s 13mp camera, so MEGAPIXELS is just a size and resolution of image, but at last Snap800-801 supports 21megapixel camera xD and how they supposed to do a 50? :D
